I did it myself, its actually pretty easy, dyes are available on line and to set up a small tank is not a big deal. It does take some practice.

Looks great! I have read many things about doing it at home, tried it once but the red anodizing slowly faded away (on a piece of scrap aluminum, no engine parts). It was a poor setup, I'll play around with it more this summer.
