R/N Spad/D7 kit and Shive DR-1
Hey Guys, I don't post much but have been lurking many years. I had a friend give me these kits. One is a R/N Spad 13c and Forkker D7 kit. Two planes in one kit. Separate plans, printed parts, and the standard finishing materials. Free flight rubber or 0.02 power. Probably make a good electric conversion.
The other is a Shive Specialties DR1. 13" span for rubber. Printed plans with printed wood and standard finishing materials. For rubber.
The kits are very nice, but I don't build scale. I would like to trade for something if anyone is interested. I like old kits (sport, or simple scale), all kinds of engines, or what ever you may have. I will cover shipping on my end if you will cover it on your end.
I hope someone likes these, I much prefer to trade than sell on ebay.
Thanks,

Re: R/N Spad/D7 kit and Shive DR-1
I can tell you about the kits. They were made by a two special people Bill and Jean Shive. They owned Penn Valley Hobby shop in Lansdale. PA. They closed shop about 5 years ago and unfortunately it was the last real hobby shop in this area. Jean was a very sweet person and was most knowledgeable in regards to engines and parts. She was quite short and I acted like a ladder for her putting stock up on the top shelves. Bill is still with us but is now in a wheelchair under nurses care. They both had a passion for rubber, free flight etc. They started their company Shive Specialties down the road from the hobby shop. I believe it could possibly still be slightly active with those that were running the shop.
The kits are generally good quality and many times are replications of companies such as Golden State, Jetco, Flightline, Peck Polymer and many others.

Ken. PVHC still have quite a presence on Ebay. Lots of rubber powered and glider kits, along with plastic scale models.

Rod, the fellow in charge of the EBAY store is basically selling off what goods were not sold when they closed their doors. When it's gone, it's gone. They also owned a warehouse down the street from the hobby shop. Seeing he's been selling many items through EBAY and also at swap meets, he does uncover a lot of new items.

Many items are already gone. A couple years ago, I purchased from the Shives Enterprise Blue Chip Accessories pack:
It consisted of about a dozen each, A size and 1/2-A size cockpit canopy, pilot head bust, spinners, in both sizes.
He had a slew of them and was selling them for a reasonable price. I gather that these were hobby store items to be sold in single quantities for the enterprising scratch builder or to make a kit build look more complete and polished.
Someone on E-Bay is now selling the same, wants AFAIK a little more for them but still not a bad price for what you are getting.
E-Bay: Enterprise-Blue-Chip-Accessories Item# 123185463475
The Shives also had a bunch of 1/2-A R/C and free flight kits, many R&N. Now those are gone. The only thing I see now is Dave Robelen's 2 meter kit glider for $130 plus shipping. I don't know how much more new stuff they will bring out. It appears that they are coming close to having everything sold out.

Those canopies are nice. I usually end up cutting up a drink bottle or plastic packaging.
