That thing hauls a$$. With my sloth like reaction time I wouldn’t have made the first turn and would be sweeping up balsa toothpicks.

9/16 = 14.28mm ?, is the conversion correct?

Excellent! Looking forward to seeing what you do. The wing airfoil is a LaStick scaled down to 75%. The triangular tips were omitted and I reduced the rib count and relocated them for proper spacing.

Flies great with .010 power. Still haven't succeeded with flying the .020 version under control. Not giving up just yet though.

What's the matter with the Pee Wee .020?

Re: New TD .010 and Pee Wee .020 Planes
Tiny plane, a bit heavy with the Pee Wee on it. Lots of lower and torque. After throwing it, it has spun out of control each time, hitting the ground before I could tame it with rudder input(remember it has no ailerons). I need someone else to launch it next time while my hands are ready on the radio to give faster reaction and a better chance of trimming it out. Between bad weather and long work hours at my job, I baven't been able to arrange a flying session with a competent helper. I need to start the engine, sort the needle, hand it to someone else to launch it, get ready on the radio, and fly. With only about 35-40 seconds total fuel endurance, they will be very short flights. Almost not worth the trouble. If I can proof it out long enough to get it flying straight, I'll probably upgrade he plumbing to a fuse tank and a backplate-mounted TD .020 someday. Life has been too busy lately for such shenanigans.

Is your run time of 35-40 seconds using the standard Tee Dee tank? I know a Pee Wee 0.020 will run about 2 minutes on its integral fuel tank.

Tee Bee, I would like to help you with the Pee Wee, I have achieved reliable and strong gears with this engine.
Do you have time to disassemble it and show the part of the tank? Especially where the flaper valve is located.
The execution time with your original tank is in 2 minutes, it would have to work around that time.
If you want we look at your engine together, only if you want and if you have time for that purpose, here I am!

Yes! , two minutes is the normal regular time of the engine with its hose down and original tank.

Upgraded to TD .020!!!
I guess it's finally time for a reboot on this project. The TD .010 version of the Tee Stik turned out to be a fun little sport flyer. I ended up putting a ton of fun flights on it at last summer's SMALL event. My personal life has had some complcations since then that have mostly kept me away from my models entirely until recently. In the last month or so, I've been working on some of my planes again and I was even able to go flying last week for the first time in 9 months! I'm excited about it all over again after the absence. Anyway, after getting some of my other junk airworthy again, I've been tinkering with the .020 version of this model. I got tired of fooling with the Pee Wee setup for several reasons including finicky starting, inconsistent run quality, and limited fuel supply. I know some of you will be disappointed with my decision, but my history with the TD .020 finally influenced my choice to bail on the little reedie. I have enjoyed some fun years of flying TD .020s. They start readily, run consistently well, and make tons of power for their size. Most likely, the engine is too powerful for this tiny 2-channel model, but I think it's at least going to be an exciting experiment! I haven't had a chance to fly it yet but am looking forward to it. First flights with the Pee Wee last year all ended up with the plane torquing uncontollably into the ground within a few seconds of launch. After several attempts, it finally broke the model on impact. This time around, I've made a few little changes such as sealing the hinge gaps, hoping to reduce the chance of flutter and hinge failure. I will have someone else launch it so I can be on the sticks and ready. FWIW, the .010 version was a real handful the first time out until I got it trimmed but flies with good control authority now. This one balances the same but is heavier overall and will need to remain on the step to fly well. Not expecting much of a floaty glide. Stay tuned and wish me luck.....

Re: New TD .010 and Pee Wee .020 Planes
Hi Tee Bee, it's good to know about you ... I've remembered a lot about you, since I started a project with Cox Tee Dee .010 R / C.
We have shared the idea of converting a normal Cox .010 to R / C and finally achieve it.
Here I leave the links if you want to visit clear.

I am very happy that you resume the activity and that you will soon share with us the news of the new configuration, I am referring to the replacement of the Pee Wee by the Tee Dee.
I will be attentive to your news!
