RE: Oh!The humanity !!
I don't remember if Harrison Ford had the Menasco inline four or the Menasco five cylinder radial on his Ryan PT two seater when he did a lawn dart impression in the Santa Monica golf course in 2015......

Actually a Kinner radial on the PT-22...Fleet Biplanes had them also.

Nothing in the front 3 holes. Might have a shaft extension and just the 4th cylinder active, or nothing at all.
Interesting... sorta.

Well the tank backplate ain't broke. That's gotta be worth something??
Honestly, if I was to go to the trouble, I would at least align the crankcases & use matching cylinders and heads.

That's right...I had forgotten about the Kinner...
I saw a Kinner radial running once at an airshow and it may have been in a Ryan. I love the sound of any radial engine running especially a warbird....

Re: OH THE HUMANITY!!
I find both of them sort of interesting... The black "inline" is clearly meant for decoration, and it does resemble the inline 4's like Gypsy Major or the PT-19 engine mentioned before. If I didn't know anything about Cox engines, this is something I might have in my office. For a non-functional jumble of parts it is kinda cool IMO.
The other one then... Looks like a Tee Dee tank mount and a .051 bottom end plus 3 mufflers... I might be tempted to pay $21 for it if the shipping would be reasonable (that's another $25 for me). Most likely though the mufflers are missing the steel parts As a "unit" I don't find it attractive but it is almost worth the price in parts. Again IMO.

That 4 cylinder one looks cool to me just as a curio cabinet display piece
I may replicate something similar some cold winter day from all the Bee Parts in my junk cigar box

Re: OH THE HUMANITY!!
Art comes in many different forms... My wife and I had a holiday in Nice, France this Easter, and visited the museum of modern art. Interesting building and architecture, but I did not really "get" most of the "art" there.
This piece did cause the "oh the HUMANITY" reaction:
The title did make me chuckle, as I had had a very good Creme Brulee the night before, much better than "Dynamite and Brulee"
Here is an unidentified French car (guessing Renault), in a similar form:
Plus a couple of other pieces:
I sort of "got" this and found it amusing:

RE: Oh!The humanity !!
My long held opinion is " If I can do it, it's not art..."
I thought the French were more sophisticated than having a burned out car hull displayed as high art !!
I can drive around the I-285 "Super Circle" and see 3 or 4 of those everyday.
The common folk here call the burned wrecks "Carbeque ".
Of course, the more educated hoi poloy refer to the burned cars as " Auto Flambe" ....

Well, that museum was definitely a weird experience. But it was good to get indoors for a while, we both burn easily in the sunshine. A lot of those works were from the late '50s, I guess there was a lot of experimenting going on. Weird stuff indeed.
Here's an example of the more traditional stuff:
Mostly we just walked around the old town, and of course the "Promenade des Anglais" by the Mediterranean.

I know this is in very poor taste. But, I am sure we have lots of carbeque in this area, now. If our wild fires keep moving west we will also get lots of auto flambé.

Re: OH THE HUMANITY!!
I see this modern art, but personally I don't really care for it. I consider art to be something that one must put skill and imagination to work, something that really requires talent. One would understand a child showing their art, that being so young and inexperienced can appreciate nurturing from a parent or teacher, who one day may become a skilled artist. For such giving praise and encouragement is worth it. But modern art by adult? I digress.
Now the statue of David, that is a work of art. If someone took that beat up car and restored it to its former glory would be a work of art.

The cruched red car is a Renault Dauphine. The cylinder comes from a Panhard & Levassor engine. It is post war. The model could be Dyna, Dyna Z, PL 17 or PL 24. I got several of these cylinders. Am I rich now??

Well, if you have some pink paint handy, you may well be rich
Iremember the exhaust manifold you made for the Traction Avant, that, my friend, truly is a piece of art!

$717.40 USD (658.49 EUR) including shipping, wow! Since it does not fire simultaneously leads to less than efficient crankcase volumetric efficiency for fuel air mixture delivery. It's a reworked Sure Start of all things. A little machining, sand blast the machined crankcase with clean letter stamping, we are definitely in the wrong business.
