I suspect some is market saturation.. us old(er) guys now have more kits than we can ever build

and some is time of year...saving for Xmas and to see what Black Friday deals are possible...

I am in the; too many now to ever build---- and it distresses me a bit to pass on some of these exceptionally good deals you are offering


I hope my post stirs some member to realize the great offers and help you out

I'm in the "I can't believe I bought that many kits over a few years" group. We moved my daughter to WSU in August and my boys got their own rooms. When we moved the boys around, we found so many kits, they were everywhere. These are just the ones I have at least 2-3 of. And I was feeling a little shame. If I sell a few, it might make my think "I don't have a problem". Have a good one Fred.

For you Fred, I can do that.

Luckily I looked into the opened box for Ron's Flying Clown, it had a broken rib. Don't worry though, I found two unwrapped clowns in the same closet. I'll build the opened one myself. I need a new lighter clown racer.

Ok. I think I'm doing something wrong. I typed in all the size and weight of the boxes and the prices seem super high. I can take them by the stores tomorrow if need be. But here's what the online sites say.
Ron-34"x7x4" @ 2.4# = $21.12 usps
Fred-42x7x6" @ 3.4# = $25.19 ups
Peter-42x7x6" @ 3.4# = $27.19 ups

Doesn't that seem sky high? I planed to wrap them with another layer of cardboard to protect them. My zip is 98579 if you want to check for yourself. I'll call them tomorrow to see if I screwed this up somehow. I'm sorry it's taking this long.

I looked on eBay and a ringmaster shipped for $15. I'll need to talk to someone tomorrow. I'm really sorry guys.

Hi Duke - I pm'ed you about how the USPS calculator worked for me - it came out less than the UPS charge.
I was helping someone with an ebay business and the biggest headache was shipping, so no worries.

Duke Those prices do not seem too out of line with my experience

I have a rural post office, so rarely anyone inline. I chat it up with my postmaster who is doing the send this box thing for me... She always lets me know the three or four options saving me a few bucks here and there

I have shipped several Brodak kits that size packed in the original outer box Brodak sent it to me in---- and one time just the Kit box, as is, with shipping label...but I upped the insurance to $100 from the normal $50 Priority mail provides...It arrived unmolested

Bottom line...send it and I will pay the actual shipping

Just so everybody knows I asked Duke to ship it to me in just the Brodak box and cheapest no insurance rate

Aside from the horror stories a year or so back with a CEF member shipping models that were delivered looking like they have been run down on the ramp by a berserk idiot in a high speed golf kart...I have had extraordinary good luck with the last 5 years of sending and receiving through the USPS

That.... and there is not much inside a well packed KIT that, even if crushed, can not be readily replicated with my large stash of good wood

I think I have those kits. I could use a .010 TD (daily runner) or .15  Diesel combat motor (sharma or PAW). I'm always a sucker for Cox stuff or free flight stuff

Nope neither micro Cox or any Diesels are in my kit of stuff

Hey Duke is the Super Clown the electric ARF or Glow?

Might have a few Cox excess engines (medallion/TeeDees) to trade if Glow...I have no need for electrikery power at this time
