Cox .010 travelling engine "Wee Wun"
I had this build in mind from the beginning of the TE announcement. It's a "Wee Wun" from Aeromodeller 1968.
I cut the parts out by hand this evening, the ribs were a PITB. Some parts had to be cut twice as the cutting gets tricky in small scale.
I should have the wing built by tomorrow and will be a dope finish. Hopefully it turns out well enough to showcase the TE .010
Here is a picture of my progress so far...

Why Yes!
On the road I have peace and quiet and time at my disposal. I can think of no better way to spend my time than knocking out a small build. I am sitting in Cape Canaveral so it seems fitting. Looking forward to a launch on Thurs...

Ah! At first I thought you were talking about the Wee One, and was going to ask if you were using fixed or movable flaps.

Then I saw that you're building a Wee Wun. Should be an exciting flier.

Cribbs,
It appears that you are using the tankless backplate, have you decided on a tank arrangement?
The Wee Wun and the Wee One are both on my bucket list...so far I have built neither.

Cool Looking little plane Cribbs , where did you get the kit from ? Those small ribs are one reason I am getting Roger to cut me another micro ring for a build // My Zero is still hanging on the wall a waiting the TE (small) but am thinking spring of 2017 would bee OK with me winter SIS coming

Well, I want to use the tankless mount however, it's going to be tricky even with a small tank. I'll have to take some measurements, but I may be able to notch the wing as ling as it clears the bellcrank.

Not a kit, hand cut from plans. Pretty easy to do with these smaller planes. It's a good way to get rid of scrap balsa.

Keep in mind that I shrunk this one down to a 10.5" span. Originally designed around a TD .020, hopefully it will work out.

Re: Cox .010 travelling engine "Wee Wun"
Some more progress tonight, I am a little limited at this point as I don't have a bellcrank or leadouts here with me. It's turning out nose heavy, maybe it will straighten itself out when covered and all the little bits are attached.

Man! That's looking GOOD! Makes me want to start one to use a modified helicopter PeeWee on. Can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks Mark, I think the heli .020 would work really well on this model as built per plans. The .020 TD must have boogied.

A little bit, not a slab winger though. Kinda reminds me of a mew gull.

Yes, definitely Ringmaster on the back end. Maybe the designer really liked Matt Kania designs:

Ok the building part is done. On to covering and finishing. Planning on a micafilm/dope finish, it won't be fancy, but it will be sound.

I really like that Ron! Looks terrific! What's the tank-capacity?
Re: Cox .010 travelling engine "Wee Wun"
Not sure of the weight yet, or tank capacity. I can say it ran for 3-4 mins on another plane.
