Ready for Huntersville and the Carolina Criterium
Back in the starting rotation in Rusty's corner...
though she still has to prove she can fly...
Oriental V.2.0
Look at those limber control surfaces, falling with only gravity.
She weighs 50 ounces now, up 4.5 oz from before, and 3/8" longer, the CG is as close as I can measure with my fingers to the original spot. In case of a pre-contest shakedown in Huntersville Friday afternoon, my old trusty Ukey will step in and take over. It's now been outfitted with two wheel gear for better rollouts, and sports the flawless Jason_WI OS.25fp

I may also take the Cardinal with its LA.40 which I have never flown. It's been a month since I flew a pattern, so I need to get greased up in a hurry. I'll be rolling out of Columbia Friday in time to get there with enough daylight for several trim flights. I'll update from there.

I have to get home ASAP clean out my truck and load up. I hope to be leaving at 3 am and arrive in and around noon. My main concern is Washington DC rush hour as I will be driving directly into it at about 7 am. I'm looking forward to it. Ken

Hey guys
I'm getting jacked. Holley is home today and tomorrow so we are in full-on staging mode, that's part of the fun of a road trip for me. Both of us on a single minded mission. Today I'll run a few tanks through the big bird and pre-flight the Ukey and Cardinal, gather my gear and be ready to pack the car. We'll be there early enough to see the 1/2A Combat this time, a first for me. I'll bring my Gladiator so I can get some laughs out of the Real Combat guys. I can fly it though, just gotta keep it turning to stay in the air. If my damn clinic isn't broken down when I arrive at 6 Friday AM, we'll be on the road by 1:00. Should be in H'ville by 2:45 or so. Yaaaazoo!

Re: Ready for Huntersville and the Carolina Criterium
Great day. I entered Profile and scored well.
Test flew the Oriental, perfect trim, no adjustments needed. It pulls much harder now, almost reminds me of the Magnum. Got some fuel feed problem with so will fly the Ukey again in PAMPA tomorrow. That will score a bit lower, so not likely to overtake Wayne again, but i 'll try to kick hi s ass anyau, lol.
