I have a new Brodak .049 of the latest generation. I only ran one break-in run on the bench, using Sig 25 fuel. I'd rather have a Medallion that's in good condition. I'll trade even, we both pay our own shipping. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I don't dislike it, I'd just rather have a Medallion. It's a fine little engine, and brand new. I'd give it one more break-in run before flying, but it's AAC, so they'll pretty much bolt and go straight out of the box. Ken has successfully tuned one for high performance and gives it a good report.

It was left to me by my neighbor when he moved to Kansas. I helped him get it running for the Brodak P-51 kit he was building, but when he found out modeling is harder than X-Box, he quit. He left me all of the modeling stuff he bought. Only the wing of the P-51 is built(under my supervision). I'll finish it some day.

Rusty, hold onto that engine. You will never see another like it once they're gone. I would certainly like to see more using them. These engines are not made in large production numbers. They have some issues but if yours is running out of the box with no problems I would say all is good. Many of them have fits that are too tight and won't start out of the box. Many were returned as most don't know how to address these kind of problems. Dan and I worked a bit on the one we were using and initially had very low rpm numbers. After some polishing and tinkering, we were getting very reliable starts and rpm numbers. I gave the engine back to the club member who owned it where it has now resided as a shelf queen for the past few years. I would've liked to see it run. I think that there's a lot of hidden ptential within that engine. Those responsible for the design of the engine based the engine on the beginner. They should've made another crank for the engine in which you could swap out for more performance. Dan and I looked at it and we had several possible options to give this engine some extra hp. Ken

Are the Brodak's still available? I can't tell from the website if they are or if it's just parts.

The MK II shows in stock availability. Your best bet is to always call.
