There's just something about a built-up structure... I totally understand why you use transparent coverings most often. Looks great so far Ian!

Wings, tailplane and rudder - finished and ready for covering.

And now the fuselage

Depending on balance - a motor mount.

Control horns - almost certainly.

Still working on servo mounts - design not quite working out.

I love "cabin" fuses like that! The Waco-C is another pretty airplane. Was there a pre-determined dihedral angle.. or did you set the angle where you wanted it? I don't see any strut detail on the plan.. and no obvious attachment points on the wings. Are you planning on adding any? The model looks great!

Looking back at the box photo now.. I see that there are no struts in the design.

There are no struts - the wings, like the other builds I have from the same chap, are very strong. When they are fastened on they don't move and I find them better at holding up to my clumsy landings ( I have quite a few).

The elastic band snaps but then the wing struts don't do extra damage.

These are all builds from the same designer - none of the biplanes have struts. His kits are superb and easy builds.

Really nice work, Ian I love the look and detail of those stick and tissue(or modern covering) planes.

I still have yet to build a stick structure plane. I hope some day to get around to that mini Kadet I spent so much time talking about a year or so ago. Whenever I do, you will be one of my go-to guys for Q&A.

All finished. I ended up mounting the 5g servos on the side of the fuselage.

All up weight including battery - 5 oz. Wingspan 11 1/2"

I forgot to say that the wings on this were easy - the fuselage got a bit involved. The finished plane would have looked neater if I had hidden the servos inside but my fingers wouldn't fit!

Also I hadn't planned the pushrod routes carefully enough.

I think it looks "neat" as is. Good job Ian.

The top wing is the larger at 11.5".

Hi Ian, did Miss Tally fly well?

I have no videos of this in flight - I fly on my own early in a morning before the dog walkers and joggers appear and I am having trouble flying and videoing.

This Miss Tally is very small and I couldn't track it - primarily because it flies fast!

I am always envious of our illustrious forum members that seem to make videoing simple and produce excellent results.

Miss Tally is a very robust little plane but needs very calm conditions. It flies excellently but is not for beginners. The rudder and throttle need to be linked.

It has a tendency to veer to the left in proportion to the throttle and not happy at slow speeds. It is not a glider and will tip stall. I learned to land it with a power on approach.

I had to fly it fast which is not my forte. I like a more relaxed sauntering in the sky and not constant fiddling with the sticks.

However it is a little toughy and withstood some heavy landings. Most of my planes don't!

It is a pleasure to build and the setup I had gave me 8 minutes flying time.

I fly on a sports field surrounded by trees. This is well sheltered but once I took it up to 30ft, the slightest breeze tried to take it away.

I enjoyed flying it, building it and it still looks immaculate.
