Cox Engine of The Month
Off the top of your head?

Off the top of your head?
Have you ever built something from scratch? No plans, no instructions, no kits, no rules? No incidence angles or thrust vectors pre-figured for you?
I have built maybe five that I can remember, only one survives to this day.
Some may recognize it. Wierd throttle/flap engagement, full up gooses the engine and the flaps, neutral is cruise, down drops the flaps and the engines RPM's. Fun to fly.
This one I built from scraps left over from my P-38 build.
Can't claim the Lightning as off the top of my head as I had drawings to go by. But this one actualy flew also. I have no idea what became of it. Crashed, tossed, given away. Wish I still had it.
Rene's plane almost qualifies as "top of my head" as I still had to figure all the angles. Credit to the fellow that put it together, I think scratched but maybe he had something to go by.
If anyone has done an airplane, car, or boat off the top of your head I would love to hear about it. Pictures a plus.

Leave me a few hours, I'll see if I can find it, it's a biplane with corflute coroplas wings I saw it hanging around Somewhere

Thanks David, as you can see i build to a pretty low standard, nobody will be intimidated by what I have pictured here.

I wouldn’t say they are to a low standard. I really like the looks of the second model you designed.

Re: Off the top of your head?
The blue plane is motorized with a .15 the other with a .049 The two have some funny story to tell About them The smallest maximum I remember like this yesterday I was with a flight club member In a field with electric lines on one side I demonstrated the capacity of my plane when I had the idea to go under the Line The tail hooking the electric wire has made several turns on the cable So that I thought I had taken out of this spiral, here it is hanging up again For a second time on another cable higher At that moment the two of us started laughing to tears Cause I looked at the other guy, the hand holding the controller with both thumbs up saying I can't do anything After another multiple turn I released myself from this infinite spiral In addition it is that the plane has continue to fly until the end of the tank and Landed intact After this I modified the ruder The first model was round the plane with the white propeller we see the first one befor color change and litle modification

The story with the blue biplane is that he lost his top wing and continued to fly much better after. and The last flight he made he crashed into a tree and lost the last wing Remaining
