I really like the sound of hot-bulb engines, they were very common around here when I was a kid but now you only find them as museums...

This is more a "Hit & Hit", rather than a hit and miss. A local water supply pump & engine that our club has recently installed. Engine dates from 1929, full compression crude oil engine. Three-throw pump dates from about 1920 and was previously driven by a DC electric motor. It was originally installed on a river bank at various levels, hence the need to add a chain-drive to the gear rediction unit, as it was originally direct coupled. The engine is air-start with a 3hp kerosene hit & miss engine to run the compressior for starting.

Cool stuff , i have a friend i haven't talked to in a while that has a farm not too far from me and would have Hit and Miss days for the fun off it , but i believe there not doing it any more for i cant find info on it
