Hey ohBee, that line you see mounted on top of the nacell is for air to help pressurize the tank. I stuck that small cone on there thinking it might help to gather more air. I have no idea if it will help at all, but i sorta like the look. All will tell when i actaully go and fly it. I got it when i went to my last doctors appt, while i was waiting in the room for the doctor to come i noticed the container on the wall that holds the different size cones the fit on his instrument to look in your ears and nose, i grabbed a couple, thought abouth the ram air effect it might have. I cut it down to the size you see on the plane. I don't know. Will see.

Ah....Ram Air! Now I see..
And I forgot to grab the paper off the exam table on my last visit!...and they had me on two different tables. I could have made a haul in wing covering material!

Re: Super Satan build
We do still have it, hoping to make some laps with it next sumer. The motor mount shifted a bit inboard on me when the glue set so that will be something to double check is right before take off. Extra washers.
I also traced the parts and cut out 4 copies. Its was really fun to build.

Re: Super Satan build
Well i'm waiting on a can of Deft lacqure spray sanding sealer, installed more sheeting need to sand the leading edge and a few more spots, before i get the sanding sealer. here are some decals i pickup for it. It weighs in at 1lb 3oz as it sits. Does anyone know how the decal super satan i posted here is applied? is it a iron on? I got it with the short kit. But just this evening got around to looking at it.

Did you build it with a bladder tank or a hard tank. I have never used bladder tanks yet.

I built this one with a 2oz wedge tank. I have run a bladder on my l'il satan out of necessity as the tank i soldered rusted out on me. It actualy worked pretty good. I modeled it off of how Rusty did his.
Here's my build thread on the jr. Satan if your interested.

This is where I bought the bladder supplies. Super convenient and hood quality stuff. Be sure to get the line pinch motor mounted one if you pursue it. It makes it so much easier to crank up.

My guess is water slide, probably why it has a protective sheet on it.

Well i'm down to sanding the sealer off. Using deft lacquer sanding sealer. Is there anything particular you guys use to get off all the dust, before laying down paint?

Compressed air ...( not 125 psi!) ..a tack cloth? I can't keep dust off my paint jobs...so i just blow/wipe it off best I can first.

Yeah, compressed air is what I would use.

If I may make a suggestion, your control horn should have a pad of 1/64" or 1/32" ply on top and bottom. I have seen many many planes destroyed in short order due to the horn pulling through. The lifespan becomes increasingly shorter if the wood was laser cut due to the light wood that's used.

It does have a strip of 1/8" ply on the bottom which runs the width of the elevator, do you think i should add a 1/32" pad to the top?
Picture shows the strip on the bottom.
