Virtual Walkthrough My LHS
Stumbled upon this. You can go up and down the isles throughout the store. This is where I bought many Cox engines and models over the years.

3 things I have to say about this.
1. Wow, what a great looking hobby shop.
2. Very neat idea, and looks easy to get lost in it.
3. The only disappointment of the whole link is... I tried, but they would not let me try out the Phoenix R/C Flight Simulator! Lol.

That really slick! Looks like they have a nice selection of balsa, hot wheels, plastic model kits and a wide variety of hobby/Toy items. Next step would be "point and click" to add items to your basket!!
I also liked the variety of aircraft hanging from the ceiling, and noted they need to replace a few water stained ceiling tiles .. Standard reply: .."ah, we're lucky the landlord patched the roof leak and didn't raise the rent, yet"
It's got to be tough to have enough inventory to satisfy a wide range of hobby's without having too much of the stuff that don't sell.
Thanks for the tour!

That's a nifty little feature. I was walking the aisles looking for stuff. Unfortunately I didn't see anything I needed

Yep, there's a couple Cox planes on the ceiling. If you see anything you want, I can run up there and get it. They used to have a glass case under that green Futaba sign, in it was the Cox engines. Cox engine parts used to be on the end cap that has those Horizon Hobby Park Zone flyers on it. CL stuff is still on the end cap at the end of the isle (you'll see the stuff). All fuel used to be down the last isle. Several years ago they had to reduce their stock because of orders from the fire marshal, they do have Cox fuel now.

Wow what a bonanza maaaaaaaaaaaaaan! Where is the hobby shop physically located? Minnesota?
I walked into a few hobbyshops when in the US and was just looking for any COX related items but apart from the personal collection items of e.g. one shop owner (Archie's at Pinellas Park, Fl.,) they did not have anything COX on sale any longer.

Happy New Year Andras! A couple years ago, a LHS closed. I was lucky to learn about this, because it wasn't a shop that I had frequented. I'd only known about its existence since moving to N. Smithfield in 2010. After 70+ years in business.. (est. 1939..) they were closing their doors. The owner told me that they didn't plan on listing anything on eBay.
(my virtual tour of the then "Apple-Valley Hobby" in Smithfield, RI)
The only model-engine in the case was a Fox "Eagle" .60
I asked about "anything" Cox-related.. and the owner brought a box out of the back room..
He said that there was "another box"... but he couldn't find it. I checked back once more, before they closed.. but he still hadn't come across it. He told me that they had gotten a few bids on buying-out the stores remaining stock.. and also just certain products. Even at 40% off, they hadn't sold much. Their biggest investment was in Lionel 0-gage stock.. and they had a LOT of it. I don't know what the outcome was.. but I do have the man's contact info. somewhere.
There's an old established hobby shop; "Hanson Hobby" in Hanson, MA that is still operating. I haven't been there in decades. There is a good-size model-flying community around that area. It would be interesting to speak with the proprietor.. and get some history on the shop. Maybe they have some Cox NOS in a dusty box in the backroom...
Re: Virtual Walkthrough My LHS
Happy New Year Roddie....that would be an awesome thrilling exercise to fish through the stocks of such an old hobbyshop still having COX stuff on inventory and sale...but you know what??? It would be even better to see hobbyshops thrivng on continued COX business.
Every time I see an old American thriller movie like the Colombo series starring the late Peter Falk solving a homicide case in LA in the 1970-s I cannot stop thinking of the COX factory still in business then in Santa Ana, the suburb of LA.
