some History Li'l Satan/ RR1 1961
Nice autum day back on Long Island N.Y. Extra fine sunny day and big area to fly at local School yard. I had just finished buildind a Goldberg VooDoo with silk covering. At same time built and finished a Goldberg Li'l Satan. The L/S had a very fine running RR1 in the nose. Flew the VooDoo first with a Veco .35 C/S and it flew very good. I then hooked up the L/S and got ready for one very fast ride. RR1 came to life and set needle a little rich. Plane leaped into air from a good launch. Man this baby was moving and then engine kicked itself up a notch. I got it down without any problems and decided much longer lines were needed. Both were a pretty pair and flew very well. I have great affection for the RR1. Cox will allways have fond memories for me. I am not a collector but do have many Cox engines and over the years have all except whats availabvle now. That VooDoo and its sister another VooDoo with Johnson C/S plus the L/S made alot of fellow flyers very nervous come launch time. These little guys sure got up and moved out, plus they stunted very well for that time. It was fun back then and guess what? I still have a VooDoo in my fleet and several 1/2A combat ships with TD's.049/.051's.
The L/S for me maybe another as I made up a kit from full sized plans. Moden combat planes are much better.
Cheers,Dan
