can anyone tell me the rpm range on a td 051,is 27,000 possiable?my new rpm reader said 31,000 at one point!!! this is a new engine i just got and ran first time today,thing screams thats for sure,also what is general needle settings at??

If you have 30% nitro fuel it can probably turn 22 to 24k on the bench with a 5" prop. Others claim faster. They can be made to turn faster but breaking the crank becomes a possibility. I don't know the usual needle settings because I run mine on bladder pressure and the slightest variation in the needle shape can make a few turns difference.

I have a custom built .049 that will go 23,500 with 35 % nitro and a 5-3 prop. A stock .051 should not rev that high, but it it does you got a winner there.
