Quality of Comet CL planes
Morning. Just wondering about the Quality and general flying quality of Comet CR planes. They show up on EBay here and there. To the untrained eye of people like me they look Great. Anyone had any experiences with them ? Thanks

Re: Quality of Comet CL planes
If you are referring to the Comet ready-to-fly CL planes, there are those here who certainly know more than I do, and some even have these as collector items.
They were short lived, both Wen-Mac later Testors and Cox basically had the market locked in. Duke Fox lost money, had many engines unsold when they cut his order for their planes and Comet discontinued production of the planes. Occasionally his engines show up on the 'Bay with the Comet words and symbol ground off the crankcase. This is how he sold those "excess" engines.
I think also Herkimer lost money too on their OK Cub .06 engines.

Ok thanks. I saw a Comet Mustang for sale a few weeks ago. Of course I couldn’t hold it in my hand a do a good visual inspection but the pictures seemed to show a interesting quality airplane I’m not a big Mustang fan or I would have bought it

There is a person who does shot kits of old Comet kits, aerowerkes models. I have never bought one, but I have considered ordering one of the Sterling beginners kits. Or maybe one of the Scientific kits.
