Timer´s Nightmare (Frank Ehling) 1942
Hello boys !
I would like to show my home made models, Cox powered.
(Excuse me for my english writen, I don´t practice. )
The first model, that I made is the "Timer´s Nightmare" by the Great FranK Ehling at 1942.

I selected light balsa plume, I have pdf plan.

Also a little rc inboard and of course powered Babe Bee .049.

The span was 1200 mm and only weight 265 gr.

The model finished.

But ... this model was lost in the sky last summer in a incredible great thermal.
This is the last funny video.
I´ll remember forever and I will build another one a little bigger soon.
Best regards
JMCalata

Lovely plane there!
It is a shame you lost it to a thermal, Who knows maybe you will find it one day in field with no damage
for those who don't know 265 grams is about 9oz, so that was very light!

Nitro, the plane flight over Toledo city and I put my telephone number in the bottom, but the person that find the plane don´t call me.
Now I use beacons in 869 MHz inboard and a radiolocation.

This is more big , 1,4 meter span.

Fuse triangle bulkheads with wires transmissions 0,8 mm.

wings and colour scheme
I make long and big wing and tail wing.
With reinforced diedrals.
And I decided this colour scheme
like vintage indian motorcycles.
Cover with the very light "Solite".

Firs flight
The first flight in the evening were dangerous , because are a few rubbers of sujeccion of the tail , it´s produce a big tilt of horizontal stab cause a drill spin.
Lucky it had not anything hurt of model.
Wing incidence are also less of plan , it was 2 º and plan is 3 º.
We correct two thing for the next flight.

Now good flies
Finally , quite this arranged and the plane flies perfectly .
More rubbers bands on the tail and a few strips of balsa to increase the wing incident up to 3 º.
Good summer
