Awesome job. I really like the color scheme. Simple, yet very sharp.

Remarkable as always, Jim.
Is that a 1-way valve behind the needle for bladder filling?

Here's the link. Search for others on Outerzone. There's a lot of choices.

Greg,
Thank you for the compliment. You don't really need a plan for these little profiles. Do a google image search for a 3 view drawing of the plane you want to model. Print it off and enlarge To the proper size at the local copy shop and scratch build from that. It's pretty simple and allows you to build any plane you want.
Here's what a 3- view looks like:
You'd be surprised what you can do from 3 views. Tomorrow I'll post a photo of my most ambitious cox powered model yet, all done from 3 views.

I can hardly wait to see what a most ambitious model looks like. I have to say that the one posted above would be well deserved in that category.

Re: REED SPEED 2016 qualifying photos!!!
Not that I'm critical Jim, because that's the most awesome, beautiful, model I have seen. But isn't that an awkward arraignment for the bell crank relationship to the wing guide if the lead-outs are positioned straight out? It seems that the downward angle of the crank would present a binding problem.
That said, the thin wing and gull angle are things of beauty.

Yes Rusty. It fills on that side and there is a loop of tubing on the opposite side for the clamp to grab.

Bob,
It seems to work ok on the ground
Seriously it seems to be bind free. It's only flown once if you can call it that . It was hand launched when I knew it was to windy and it came into the circle and crashed, nothing broken. I hope to try again Friday.

Re: REED SPEED 2016 qualifying photos!!!
Hey Greg, NICE SPITFIRE! Love that wing! I could give you some hints on a cowl.. and they sure look cool.. but I'd wait til' after your official flight to add it. It'll be easier to fuel and tune that Babe Bee without one.. and you want that to be "no nonsense" on race-day. An engine-cowling will require a needle extension.. and in the case of a Babe Bee; a fuel-probe to reach inside to the tank nipples. You can use an appropriate-size plastic cap from an aerosol can for the cowling. Your firewall area needs to be blocked-up (preferably with spruce or basswood) for sizing the fuse's nose and engine; to fit on-center inside the cowling. Hole-saws are used to cut the openings for the prop-shaft and cylinder. Careful measuring will pay-off!

Jim that is a gorgeous 1/2a airplane
I hope you do a little write up and submit it to Model Aviation, the AMAcatalog, ah er; magazine for the "focal Point" section. If you do, add a brief sentence about design and build for the CEF contest
Great job sir!
