(Wanted) Working Glowhead for Holland Hornet .051
Need a working glowhead for my Holland Hornet .051. Doesn't need to be NIB, just a good runner. I'd aslo be glad to buy two to have a spare.

Have you contacted MECOA? They reproduce the Hornet, and list new .051 glow plugs on their website. Hard to tell if the parts are actually in stock, however...

Re: (Wanted) Working Glowhead for Holland Hornet .051
Thanks. I checked there, but the link for the Holland Glowhead doesn't go anywhere when it's clicked on. I've got a Galebreath Conversion Head on order, with a couple extra plugs, so I should be able to get it going.
Would still take a stock head if anyone comes across one. Don't know if I can convert the original one...metal is mighty thin on top!
Thanks Again Though!

That .020 plug at the bottom looks interesting.

Yes it does. Should shoot him an email to see if he still has them available...

I just sent one.

Doug told me he needs a burned out plug for the conversion...maybe he does them as he gets the order. I'm gonna get one on the way also.

Probably because I guess ther ei no suppliers for burned out glow heads
.049/.051 head
I bought a head for Holland Hornet and TD from Galbreath. Heads are $13.00 and plugs were around $5.00 each. They are performance products and with purchase of few plugs you are ahead. Plus you can buy more plugs. I have a few new H/H plugs new but will keep them as very hard to find and 50 years old.

Re: (Wanted) Working Glowhead for Holland Hornet .051
Thanks! It happens that I JUST got a conversion head and plugs from Doug yesterday! So, my H.H. should be cranking here shortly! Appreciate it!
As a side note, the head that came with my engine does draw current and has a dim flow, so I'm gonna give it the alcohol flush treatment mentioned in another thread...just to see what happens.
Thanks again ! Kim

.049/.051
Did you try to start it the way it is? The H/H like to run and even fire with dim plug. Much more forgiving than a Cox engine. I use cue-tip soaked in alky carefully on plug and install. Then test engine and most times it runs.
