Yeah, fragile props aren't a good choice for me, I go gopher hunting too often.Mark Boesen wrote:I love wood props on larger models, looks, safety, easy to balance, etc., but on smaller planes you're (at least I was) more prone to break a prop.

That's the thing.
With rc you gain more altitude and it is usually easier to recover before you hit the ground but that also has its dissadvantages.

I've had good luck taking an APR 5.7X3 and cutting it down to a 5X3. It is a lighter load on the engine than an APC 5X3 and the Cox 5X3 props. I just cut brass tubing to use as a prop adapter for the APC props. The purple prop from kittingittogether.com really lets the little engines rev up. I had an engiene that would turn 17K RPM on a Cox 5X3 grey competition prop that turned over 21K on the purple prop. Great for going fast.

I findd that apc 7-4 great for engines converted to diesel.
They are sharp but awfully tough props for how rigid they are.
