Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Okay I hadn't seen that first one called Glow Power Fuel with 10% nitro. It might have been a blue can too for all I know. I just remember trying the red can once and it was so much hotter I never bought another blue can. At that time I was still taking my Stuka and P-40 down to the baseball field.
My other two copies of the formula sheets are also from 1977 in PDF format.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
With Beta tester Ron Cribbs supervising, we've field tested the Beta Test Cox Super Power Fuel with some long fast flights with my Tee Dee powered Li'l Satan, and also my Norvel powered Baby Flite Streak. I think it's proven its suitability now. Any word on when we can buy this new formula? We'd like to have it for our annual January Tach Race.
Thanks.
Rusty
Thanks.

Rusty,
When is the January race?
We will have the first shipment of fuel in January, but not sure of the arrival date yet.
Thanks.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Hi Dave
January 24 and 25 are the actual race day. We all mail our engines to Kim Stricker in Missouri and on those two days he bench runs them to score and tabulate the tach readings. Only he would need a bottle on race day, but the others might want to tune up on the same fuel before sending them off. I'll let them squabble about that though. Most of us don't take it too seriously, mostly just a fun way to break the Winter monotony.
Here is the discussion thread on the Tach Race:
https://www.coxengineforum.com/t7382-tach-race-2015january-24th-25th
Thanks again, we really like the Beta juice.

new formula update
Hi Guys!
It's been a while since my last update and I know some of you are anxiously waiting.
We are moving forward on the new formula. New bottles have been selected and label updates are done. 35% nitro has been added as requested, so you will now have a choice of 25% and 35%.
The new fuel will begin shipping to dealers somewhere around January 20 or so. Please don't bug your dealers for it until then. Normally we do not make announcements to the consumer prior to the dealer release, but you are a special group.
Thanks for your patience. I will share more specifics at a later date.
Keep on flyin'

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Thanks, Dave. This will be a big boost, as now I'll have access to an acceptable fuel for my small half-A and A sized engines, without having to mix Castor oil to standard RC fuel. I'm looking forward to the availability of your new fuel at Tower Hobbies. (I live rurally, nearest hobby stores are 95 miles and 2 hours away. Thus, I rely heavily on mail order.)

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Ditto Eric !!!
Also, we were gonna use the new 20% for the Babe Bee Class in this year's Tach Race ( https://www.coxengineforum.com/t7382p60-tach-race-2015january-24th-25th-the-rules?highlight=tach+race+2015 ) , and if it and the 35% squeak in in time (with the approval of the participants) we could also use it in the Unlimited, Mouse and Tee Dee classes...making it an across-the-board Cox Event !
Thanks Either Way !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kim

Thanks Dave. I explained about the new fuel to our club at 1/2A day a couple of weeks ago and it'll also be in our next club newsletter which goes to people all over the country. I'll make sure they get the most up to date information before we print it.
Also thanks for the 35%.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Like Rusty said, "Thanks for the 35%".
I'm so jazzed about how this all worked out.
Who'd a thunk it. Still pinching myself.
My LHS is a Hobbico dealer too! Even if they
don't stock it, I can order some up.
Thanks Dave and all my fellow forum members
who made this possible.
Big feather in your hat too Jacob.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
This is exciting news! A choice between two Cox fuels, a nice flashback to the good old days! I'll have to start watching for it shortly after the beginning of next year. The hobby shop up the road will likely start stocking it soon after it becomes available. Thanks for listening and responding to our suggestions as well as keeping us updated, that's great customer service (which seems to be getting rare these days)! Also, thanks to the guys who helped bring this fuel topic to Hobbico's attention and the guys who took part in the fuel tests.
We are indeed a unique and special group LOL!
This is a great early Christmas gift!

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
I still have the dregs of Ron's test bottle of Hobbico Beta 25%, so I'm tossing the Li'l Satan into the car tomorrow for some between stunting entertainment. So stay tuned for my flight report tomorrow evening, featuring the Yak-9, Magnum and Li'l Satan. And maybe even Wayne's Pathfinder.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
It has been a while since I've popped in here.
I ran the test fuel in several engines, too. It was a great performer! The engines seemed to start with more ease, and also ran very steady, The TD .010, My TD .051, some reed valve .049s and the Traveling Engine were the subjects with the new fuel. Good stuff! I think I run engines just a tick on the rich side, so I always have some cleaning to do after flying, and this was no exception. That's a fair trade for proper fuel, that will ensure the longevity of our little powerplants. I'm happy with the results, and would say: move forward with production.
I'm glad to have been offered the opportunity to help with the test, and hope that my little input helps.
Thanks!

Canada shipping?
Will I be able to get the super fuel by mail order here in Cranbrook B.C. The only LHS around deal pretty much entirely with (I think) Tower Hobbies and she doesn't like to special order anything.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Happy New Year guys! I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and wonderful New Year celebration.
We're getting closer to the new Cox Super Power fuel being on the shelves! As I mentioned previously, we have a small logistics issue that delayed us a bit, but we should start receiving shipments in our warehouse by the last week of Jan.
We will have the fuel to Kim in time for the contest, so no worries there.
I will keep you advised later in the month.
For those that are in warm enough climates to do so...keep on flying!

Thanks Dave. I told our club members at our 1/2A fun-fly day about it and it was well received. I hope we can drum up some business for you when it's ready to sell.

new fuel pics
Hi guys!
The new fuel blend is in production and will be shipping to our Champaign warehouse by the end of the month. The west coast warehouse (Reno) will receive it about 1-2 weeks later. Kim has already received the fuel for the contest.
I've attached a photo so you can see the changes we made to easily identify the "new" from the "old".
Please note:
Old (on left):
small cap
horizontal flute
tapered neck
tall label
New (on right):
large cap
vertical flute
straight neck
shorter label
contents sticker
Stock numbers:
25% - COXP1005 (same as previous number)
35% - COXP1010 (new number)
The Cox Fuel website still shows the older bottle and product info. It will be updated soon.
