INVENTORY YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!

INVENTORY YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, sometimes I think I need to hire someone to watch over me. So, after catching the Diesel Bug (which I blame ENTIRELY on Nitroairplane!), I figure, "Hey I ought to build me up an .049 kerosene huffer using a Davis Diesel piston/cyl combo I got from Bernie."
Just need me a heavy-duty crank and I'm in business! So, I tune up my Canadian Friend's site, get caught up in the glory of New Stuff, order, but forget to order the crank!
THEN...figured I hadn't gotten anything from Matt for a while, and REALLY wanted some more "Cox Flying School" stickers anyway, so up and ordered some, AND remembered to order the crank!
THEN...rummaged through my stuff, looking for an 8 cc tank I'd promised ideeman, and find an un-opened package from Bernie...WITH A NEW HD CRANK INSIDE !!!!!!!!
It ain't easy being me....

Good to hear I'm not alone in this...as you may know...craziness loves company!
But the final chapter of good news is that now, resting on the table I'm supposed to use for writing, there sits an 049 Diesel waiting for it's first dose of stinky fuel !

And searching for some 049 head gaskets, thinking I need another package from bernie. Order some, recieve them, go to put them away in the parts bin,,what do I find?? yup.

OH YEAH !!!! BUILD THAT INVENTORY !!!!
In all honesty, most of my such incidents are the result of spontaneous laziness. I've got divided parts boxes with spots for ALL of this stuff, but I get that wonderful pack from Bernie or Matt, tear it open to savor the contents, and chuck it in the drawer to be sorted later.
Well, "later" was this morning...on the backside of ordering more good stuff !
Now, guess I'm gonna need more Diesel Conversion Cylinders!

Re: INVENTORY YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since common Cox parts are so "affordable" I find having an abundance of them on hand irresistable. Further I build a "shopping list" on Bernie's site "just in case" I need or want something. And sure enough in a few days I order them.
Never seems to fail.

Oh did i forget to mention the "diesel bug" is highly contageous I have at least 5 already and at least 2 of those on this forum,
I think Davis should start paying me.
Re: INVENTORY YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday I ordered, along with some other parts, a set of two regular cranks from Bernie, as I tough I didn't have any left (just the drive plates)...
Guess what? One hour later, found one lying on the bottom of my "cox parts" box
And it's not the first time
Looks like it has nothing to do with age, I'm 17

Maybe its just how much nitromethane and ether we inhale
Re: INVENTORY YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kin you are fine for now but i recommend you be ware as the next bug that comes with diesel is the "tiny bug" where any engine smaller than .010 will turn your heart to butter.
this is the most time and money consuming bug but without doubt the best.

Re: INVENTORY YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I have the tiny bug. It just hit me out of the blue. I've got planes to fly, engines to fix, parts to order, and now this!
I want a Tee Dee .010 and one of those ridiculous little planes to fly on short lines. I read somewhere you can use 15' lines, is that right?
Lucky for me, I have no money.
