Look at the fourth picture. Does anyone know why the cylinder head on the TD looks silver? I have never seen that on a Cox Engine before. Andy

Not sure what you are asking. Pic#4 shows the engine with the cylinder head off. The piston is showing and the piston itself is cast iron. Is that what you are referring to?

Yes. The piston head on all the engines I have seen are copper colored.

My Tee Dee .15 Special has a silver top as well.

Like I mentioned it's a cast iron/alloy piston with a piston pin. It doesn't have the brass/copper(whatever it is) top like the .049's
