Installing an Olympic 15
Hi being an engine using beginer, I'm an ex silent flyer. I'm unsure of the best way to mount my Olympic.. As it has a rear mounted Carb facing backwards horizontaly. Any advice welcome. Would 25% nitro fuel be ok to run it on. Does anybody make a glow plug adapting head. As I asume glow heads are hard to come by.
Cheers

Re: Installing an Olympic 15
I'm not really sure what you are asking but the Olympic is a beam mount engine. It can be mounted upright, sideways, upside down .........
The needle valve assembly can be at any angle and remounted the other way round. Position adjusted until it suits your fingers.
I like these rear induction engines - when you are "fat fingered", like me, there is less chance of a drubbing by the propellor.

Re: Installing an Olympic 15
This is how my Olympic is installed on my 3 meter Bird of Time. I originally built it for a Medallion .15, then changed it (ground out a funnel with my Dremel) to suit a Sportsman & Olympic. There are several fibreglass mounts available also...I got some by Hayes that I intend to use on some future projects. Their mounts are made with elongated rails that can be cut to fit.
Glowplugs for .15's turn up fairly often on Ebay, and there are adapters...I think by MECOA or others to let you use a regular glow plug. The hottest fuel I run in my .15's is 15%, and they also start and run just fine on 10% Sig.
