Re: Thimble Drome Champion
Finished! The repro stickers are OK, could be better and still need a 6/3 white Kay-Sun prop but that will turn up on eBay.
I found a very nice box and accessory kit that had the fuel can, bridle, center post and cable and instructions so this is pretty complete now.
There was one big problem with the box!! It came with another Rod in it!!
To quote my favorite prez "now there you go again"

Do you have a picture of the prop you are looking for? I have a bunch of old props.

I could use any white Thimble Drome 6/3, the very early ones had a logo like this rough drawing, on each blade

Re: Thimble Drome Champion
Here are the ones I have. They are not pretty. The rose colored one is nicer, but not the color you were after.
The other problem is they are both 5 1/4" not 6"
With that all said they are yours if you want them.

Re: Thimble Drome Champion
Sorry it took so long for reply, been dealing with many domestic issues lately and thanks to this little hobby I,m still sane, maybe!
Thanks for the help and kind posts from Ron, getback, OVERLORD and Bob. I'll keep the red prop on it, its fine, sometimes I get too anal with these projects.
I,m going to make the red Rod a runner and if I can find a place to run, video the run. Thanks for the support, 5839 views and counting!!

Re: Thimble Drome Champion
Nicely done, congrats!
The Kaysun props were used by Thimble-Drome to about, '57-'58 (?) Cub/Comet also used them.
They're still around: http://www.kaysun.com/about-us

Re: Thimble Drome Champion
I just ordered an Associated 1/8 Monster GT truck for my 19 year old who is starting to show interest in nitro RC (but its really MINE!!).
I thought it might learn him how to tinker with machines (right now he is a master at smoking pot and smart phones but ya gotta love em).
Anyone run these? What is a good plug, fuel, break in? I think the engine is a Super Tiger 8cc, .50ci.
The thing is massive, 24' long, 17.23 wide, 6.75" dia. tires

Bob/Ron, whatever works.
Glad the link helped, I tried to download and answer your questions, but it was 20MB and that takes a while on the phone.

I really like what you have done to that yellow Prop Rod.
Think there is a chance for a repeat on this mess?

I think thats a Wen Mac Automite, is the body cracked? If not it should look nice with a clean and polish.
The drive tire still has tread on it, ones run hard are bald.

Thanks, I didn't notice the tire, but that is good news.
The seller says it is not cracked but is missing the driver, I'm not sure that it ever had one. Another reason I wanted it was because it has the same flywheel arraingment as this boat motor.
