I like the clear ones but just to thrown in another design, here is a wire one that I made awhile back. I made a few of them but I only have 1 left. https://sites.google.com/site/coxenginecollection/tee-dee-051
Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
How about a nice Cox lapel badge, T shirts, flying jackets etc. there's a whole merchendising opening for the Cox logo. I'd certainly buy a lapel badge and a tshirt. Think of all the wondeful Cox advertising posters you had, some of them would make great t shirt designs

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
I like the T-shirt idea... one word of advice, no black t-shirts. The t-shirts I made for my forum are black and guys won't wear them out to the field because they are too hot... Me, it doesn't matter, I'll wear it anywhere
My T-shirts cost me $10 and I charge $25 to help support my forum. That worked fine, until the core forum members bought T-shirts, I haven't sold one since. Last year I had given some away in an on-forum contest, but that even got to the point where no one would play, even though it was very simple (heck, who doesn't want a free T-shirt....right???) I think this year the other forum owner will hand out quite a few at SEFF. (Sorry for the long story...)
Bernie's biggest issue is that he can't use the Cox logo, now that Hobbico owns Cox and is using it to push some really cheap rc planes that are way over priced, basically a 9-Eagles plane rebadged I believe.
Now if Bernie, or Matt, makes a T-shirt for their company. I bet many of us will buy them to wear
I believe I had discussed this with Jacob too about making CEF T-shirts.

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
Maybe a joint venture between CEF, CI & EXM as a sponsored T-shirt would be a good idea. That way you all would get some face time advertisement out in the real world.
Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
I can pull up my old t shirt design. Its a blown up drawing of a babe bee with Cox Engine Forum going around it.
Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
Now that would be a good t shirt let me know how much they are shipped to the uk when and if they get printed am hopefully going to a few c/l and free flight meets this year and would like to represent the forum and make more people aware

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
To sum up previous, unanswered questions:
Wire stands are fine but the plexiglas ones have a "richer" feel and look to them and actually cost less than the wire ones. I will work on dimensions today and order them.
Also working on a TD one but it's a challenge due to the 6 different TD engine sizes. Solution might be an opening for the .15 with glue-on strips to reduce the gap for smaller engines. Will speak with the supplier and take it from there.
T-shirts we are currently getting quoted, as well as alu water bottles, mouse pads and coasters (as freebies). Jackets are out due to weight ($50+ shipping to Europe). Anything we ship from here must be in the sub-250gr category as this is the only way we can offer some of the lowest shipping costs in the industry.
Special runs for CEF are likely not viable as we have to take something like at least 100 to get low pricing and I doubt we can get 100 sales of each item from CEF members.
On a related note, everyone has to realize that we do not own the old Cox mark, hence will not use it. We would use our own logo, which may not produce the same amount of sales. This is the main reason we have not made anything with a logo on it so far. But now, with a 7,000+ customer base, we may be able to achieve a 3-4% sales penetration, which would make some logo projects viable.

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
Theres a place around here that makes t shirts for a good price that I can use for the CEF shirts. Im also working on some CEF wings (pins). I should for sure have wings by late spring and early summer and the t shirts, who knows when on those.
Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
what about something like cafe express for the t-shirts... less of a hassle
Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
My BIL has a sign business and has a Silkscreen machine as well as many other methods to make T-Shirts. If needed let me know and I can get a friends and family discount.

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
I just saw your fuel bulb post.
I have been using syringes to fuel and prime my engines, I don't see any on your site. I bought mine at Fleet Farm, they are sold for veterinarian use. I have been using a 35cc syringe for the last year or so, the fuel doesn't seem harm it any.

Just an idea.

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
I've had problems with regular syringes from paint stores etc, the o-ring can't take the fuel. Brodak sells dedicated ones though in different sizes, and these work well. A syringe gives you the ability to measure the amount that is being put into the tank, unlike the bulb.

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
Syringes work and they are easy to obtain.
We specialize in more difficult to obtain stuff where we don't have a gazillion competitors.
We sold like 500 of the Sullivan bulb pumps per year - a nice little niche market.

Re: Need your help with new product suggestions
I would like to see you supply thrust wedges for mounting engines.
Brodak sells these, but some Dural ones would be even better.
http://brodak.com/thrust-wedges-1-2-3-degrees.html
They have one hole bored and the other can be bored to fit any cox, on up to large engines. The set has a pair of 1,2, and 3 degree wedges.
Thanks,
Rusty
