This engine (as shown) here: » 1956 3 piece piston Babe Bee hits 13680!
by PV Pilot Today

Shows a different cylinder than my Babe Bee cylinder which shows a four-slitted cylinder. I am 100% certain mine is original and correct.

Has the one shown by PV been modified with a different cylinder?

PV: please don't take offense at my question. Smile I'd just like to know which is correct.

Kind regards,
SuperDave

The 3 piece pistons only came in early engines but slitted exhausts only came in later engines.

They changed the engine designs many times over the years. Your Babe Bee is from around the 1970s while mine is about 25-30 years older. Mine was also the first exact Babe Bee design, its bound to get changed with improvements and extra features. Yours has a slit cylinder to cut do on the chance of a fire. I have had open cylinders catch on fire before and I don't recall ever having a slit cylinder catch on fire.

Not being desirous of an engine fire I'm glad my Babe Bee has a four-slitted cylinder. Laughing

Thanks for the info.

I think I asked about a babe bee single vent/fill backplate awhile ago on another thread and was wondering what year it would have been, I don't think it was answered tho'.

Actually PV it WAS your thread but it digressed into a discussion of Babe Bee cylinder exhausts between early and late BB's.

Digression. How unusual, huh. Shocked Shocked Shocked
