Well, there's no way to know until tomorrow evening if the last entries are gonna be in, so it might be a good call to hold off 'till next week. There's a possibility that the rest could arrive on Saturday, but that will be too late for a hotel cancellation.

i got my engines in the mail yesterday, the lady said they should be their saturday

I talked with Kim this morning and we are going to push the contest back to next weekend, Feb 2nd and actually have it at my house. There are 4 other guys besides on my list that their engines have not shown up yet.

Hey Everybody,
I know I'm guilty of waiting to the last minute (Tuesday) to mail, but I think next year we need to make the contest date a firm date and make it clear engines must be in prior to that date in order to compete, with a flex date only in case the CD needs it. This way people won't wait till 2-3 days before contest to ship and overseas contestants will be sure to ship plenty early. Last year we had a couple issues, but this year it gotten significantly worse.

I don't think its fair for Kim to take time to schedule a day to run this, then to have to postpone it because some engines got mailed late and didn't arrive on time and then have to dedicate another weekend and time to do this. I feel if my engines don't make it, too bad for me, I should of mailed them earlier. It's Kim call, but I think next year this needs to be enforced.

I can agree on that... had all year.

If mine didn't make it then I would not expect the day to be pushed out. Only to be fair. The date was made long ago.

Yeah, I agree that it's not fair to other competitors who got their engines in on time. I'll try my best to run a good race this time, and let next year's guy have a turn at setting the cut-off date.

I agree. I keep wishing I had that $19 back that I paid UPS last Saturday. But I Bit the bullet to pay for my own procrastination, knowing I risked missing the race.

Ouch! I was really torn with the express post thing. It would have cost me $29 to do it. Glad I held off. I got lucky and it still showed in time.

Making the decision to postpone is a tough call for that very reason. I think next year if we just plan ahead a little, things will go smoother. Thanks for hosting the race Kim!

Not sure who all is involved in organizing / running the race but if you gents that are managing this send me an email I will make a recommendation that may work. Just don't want to post it here as it would defeat the purpose of such.
