Rules and Information
Fuel: Sig Champion 25% for all Classes
Prop: Balanced Gray 5-3 Cox
Unlimited
Prop: Balanced Gray 5-3 Cox
Unlimited
Any combination of Cox parts, reed or rear rotor.
Any porting, grinding, chopping, you think will work.
Any head/glow plug or glowhead, RR-1 or Rear rotor type of rear induction systems are fine.
NO front induction TD/Medallion crank/crankcase. NO Cyclon, VA, &
Norvel stock or modified to reed induction. Intent is that these be Cox-based engines like the Black Widow, Sure-Start, Space Hopper, RR-1, Space Hopper, etc.
___________________________________________________________________________
Mouse 1
Any AMA legal Cox rear reed, with tank. Except no Cyclon conversion.
See AMA rules for more info.
__________________________________________________________________________
Novice
Novice
Novice class open to any unaltered, stock 'Hobby' engine.
This would include, but not limited to: Golden Bee, Babe Bee, Black Widow, Silver Bee, Sure Start, Space Bug, Etc.
Engines excluded would be a Killer Bee or Venom or any modified engine with nonstandard components.
For example: If someone sends in a Black Widow with Tee Dee cylinder and/or Nelson head the engine would be moved to the Mouse 1 category.
Contest Director would have the final determination of class placement.
__________________________________________________________________________
Contestants will send engines (Limit one engine per class) in a returnable box with return label filled out (no priority mail) plus adequate funds to cover return shipping.
Please do keep in mind that this is intended as a "Fun" event and that Travis and I will do our best to give each engine a fair run. We won't have time to do "Deep Adjustments" to attain the absolute maximum RPM, so please attempt to have the engines as "ready-to-run" out of the box as possible.

I'm looking forward to it! I hope that means I can still enter the race. I better start getting the Killer Widow warmed up as it's been sitting all year.

It's good with me if it's good with everyone else! Figure we can "quarantine" it once the race starts !!!

It's ok with me. I trust you guys! Well Kim anyway Travis may be a tad shady
Just kidding fellas! You both should enter one!
Maybe Mark will give me a shot at the helm next year. Time to fire up my new and improved novice engine. Of course it's going unlimited this go around. Maybe I should submit a mouse too.......
Woooo! Let the fun begin.

I'm looking forward to it. I'll have an engine in the fight, though I have no clue what it might be yet.

It would have to be a separate class, as a TD is much faster than a reedie.
I would like to see it happen. A "TeeDee" class.

It would be nice.

Re: "The Original Tach Race 2013"
All depends on time. I would say we would have to hold 2 separate races.
Re: "The Original Tach Race 2013"
Maybe someone else can do the Tee Dee class run ups.

Re: "The Original Tach Race 2013"
I am seriously considering heading a TD tach off up however, I want to talk with Mark first and I also want to set a timeline that doesn't conflict with current tach race.
Once I figure that out I would need to get an idea concerning participation. Wouldn't be much fun with only a couple engines.
More to follow.

Not neccessarily, I just don't know how many folks would send their high dollar TD .010/.20's through the mail system. Or the .09 and .15's for that matter.
It will probably boil down to participation.

Ron,
If you wanna do a Tee Dee Tach Race go for it! I would suggest getting it set-up ASAP, so theres some gap between the two events.

I was thinking late January so as to avoid the Holiday Mailing rush, but haven't directly discussed it with Mark and Travis. This way, it would be as soon in the year as possible, while hopefully avoiding any missing or delayed engines. My schedule is wide open however, so I'll go with what works with everyone else.
You guys please jump in and comment if you have thoughts on this.
Also, a friend of mine has now taken over my postal delivery, and I've made arraignments with him to help get the engines either handed to me, or placed in a more secure spot than my mail box out on the road. Figure this ought chill the paranoia I had last year by making sure you guy's engines are a little safer!
Later !! Kim

Either way. I think E-fest is in February, just as a heads up.

Re: "The Original Tach Race 2013"
It's a lot of fun, I plan on taking my boys up there again this year. We skipped last year but went the 2 years prior.
