The Toy Recycler??? Empty The Toy Recycler???

http://www.toyrecycler.net/?p=6907

They have a copy of the beginning of my build log from RCGroups. Anyone ever heard of this site? It looks like it's made up of How-to type posts harvested from other websites. It's okay with me, just curious.

Looks like someone has built a site that gleans stuff from the web and puts it on theirs while selling advertising... I dunno... Probably nothing you can do about it but I have a problem with propel gleaning content without any credit to the source and getting compensated ( by the advertisers ) to do it. I'd be a lot more comfortable if their was a link to the source. The way it appears is that it is all material original on their site.

They are using your log? Contact them about it! http://www.syfydesigns.com/sendmessage.php?s=5a0033c9cbb32a54b3e286c610b8d54c

It looks like that syfy designs is the owner and is running it. Even if you don't care, you should make them take it off just because they didn't ask your permission or else add your name to it.

I tried to send this message:
You posted this article from rcgroups.com:
"http://www.toyrecycler.net/?p=6907" without my permission and claimed credit for the content for yourselves. Please remove it and make sure you don't reprint any of my content unless you intend to credit me with it.

Rusty, aka RknRusty in forums.

But when I submitted it, it told me to join first. No way.

You may have to go above the forum administrator. I noticed that the forum is powered by vBulletin and if I can remember correctly, you were a moderator for a forum (lets not bring it up here...) powered by vBulletin. I'm not 100% sure but the things you post on RCG may be copyrighted by RCG or set up to be copyright by you through RCG. Don't ask me if what you post here is copyrighted by Forumotion or not, I am not 100% sure either. Anyway, you could contact vBulletin and tell them that one of their forums "Toy Recycler" has posted something of yours as theirs without your permission.

May I remind everyone the the 'net is "public domain"; crediting a source is a courtesy rather than a requirement.

That is true but copyright is still present on individual websites.
Like you must have written permission to use a sounder k on YouTube or they can remove it.
So if RCG have copyright they may be able to claim something.
But most probably not because I see websites as countries so they have there own rules and once you leave one the rules might not apply somewhere else.

Then I would ask if ideas and suggestions posted HERE bear copywrite protections of the site's owners?

I have found out that ForuMotion copyrights the posts, images, format, etc. here but it is a open copyright. Anyone can take anything from it but when there is a complaint, and you are proven the owner of the content, they can try to do something about it. I can add my own copyrights to it and drop theirs if anyone wishes it done.

Admin:

Ah, the issue of "propriatory" rights arises. Seems like it would stiffle the free-flow (note hyphen) of information here and other forums where I claim no such protections for what I have and will contribute.

I too claim no protection if people want to copy my stuff it's fine by me but I would prefer it if they ask first.
I have seen my YouTube videos on lots of other websites.

If you ever happen to notice any of your posts copied on others sites, then don't do anything about it. I guess they have the copyright there so if someone posts something that they don't want copied without their permission, they can actually take action. If you really want, I could drop all the copyrights on the forum. I can say that most forums have copyrights on the things you post. I do believe that this forum it is mostly creative commons though. ForuMotion really doesn't saying about it, I only read it on their forum. If I did pay to have the "copyrights" removed, it would only remove the links at the bottom of the page that has nothing to do with this exact forum.

I was searching for Li'l Satan builds and pictures to help me figure out what parts I am missing and how thick some of the wood is. The nose section is a little unclear to me on the plans. The detail of that section is drawn smaller than scale. It popped up on Google.
