99 engines......
Saturday morning I must have had my "head up and locked" I purchased 99 car engines.
I'd like to sell some for 5$ plus shipping costs. I can ship bulk to Europe. I'm trying to recoup my
cost and keep some engines. The teens on the board seemed interested in these engines, I'll
send you a couple free ones as i know you have limited funds. I'm going to list some on Ebay
for 10$ plus shipping. Should receive them this week. One thing for sure I wont need a glow head for a while!

Re: 99 engines......
Still looking for the engines, they were shipped by donkey cart from Id.
Shipping will only be a few $. I'll get back to everyone when I'm ready to ship.
I'll post picks when they arrive. I have PayPal.

Re: 99 engines......
Well the engines arrived today, packed well not, that box must have weighted 40 lbs.
The engines that have needles now have bent needles. Now the good news, I was looking for
single port cylinders with a 1 fin car head, all these are stamped #1 two port cylinders with SPI and a standard
glowplug. Most have been run but they are not rusty, the castor did its job. They are a bear to take apart, the
cylinders have no cutout for a wrench, however I found the heat sink makes a nice removal tool.
This is what they look like

are you going to offer some to forum members? just asking? i was considering this same thing, (cleaning up), and offering them to the high school teacher who used the cox engines in his industrial arts or engineering class. i just didn't have enough paypal for 99 engines. again just asking??
p.s. nice job on the engine . how long did 1 take to clean up?
p.s.p.s. for some reason i didn't see the first part of this discussion until a couple of minutes after i posted. no reason to answer. i like the swimming part. LOL

Re: 99 engines......
I am still willing to purchase a few of these from you. If a few turn out to be "parts engines" be sure to let me know as I need a few exhaust collectors.
Re: 99 engines......
I'd be interested in at least 1 or 2 Doug.

Re: 99 engines......
If I can figure out the crankshaft taper then I can make tapered drive plates out of Medallion drive plates for plane use. I believe the old McCoy engines used a tapered drive plate.

Jason: and where can you get medallion .049 drive plates?? I have a couple of Atwood .049 boat engines with tapered shaft and i could do the same thing if i could find a thicker drive plate than the BB. i would appreciate any information.
edit: i just went and looked on ebay and they are the same as the TD drive plate, but i noticed that the hex drive plates on the newer engines are a little thicker than the older babe bee drive plates and i think i could use them. and i am not positive, but i think i read somewhere that the taper on the crankshaft was 57 to 60 degrees. but i can't remember where, i'm just too darned old. LOVL, (laughingoutveryloud). HD
