Beech Staggerwing...The Photos !
Our local airplane collector decided to leave some of his babies out on the ramp (getting floor work in his hangar, I think) so, as previously promised, your diligent airport shutter bug jumped into action!
I got a few general "pretty pictures" and some close-up detail types.
It's registered as.......NC9597H.
Model......................D17S
Serial Number............4840
Manf. Date............. 8/15/43
One note about the details in the plane. A restored aircraft may or may not be exactly representative of an aircraft of a given era. Chances are that the restorers performed some exhaustive research to get the details as correct as possible, but the end product is always subject to the whims of the owner at the time.

Thanks... Now I see that I got the numbers on the wrong wings... Oh well!
I am involved in mid to late 60's Porsches... There are a LOT of guesses as to originality as the factory kept close to zero records and changed things mid year, or when the parts bin got low and there might be parts that were on previous year at the bottom of the bin, it went on the car.

An absolute beauty of an airplane. I drool over canvas covered airplanes and metalforming such as this.
Really nice pictures I got absorbed into them.

Re: Beech Staggerwing...The Photos !
Thanks!
I'd hoped some folks would like them. The Staggerwing IS a beautiful plane...but you know...there is one feature that (for me) has ALWAYS looked out of place...the elevators. With all the curves of the airframe, somehow, the squared-off elevators just don't look right, especially right under that curvy rudder!. I'm sure the designers had a reason for every shape on the plane, but look at the photo taken from the rear, and imagine the elevators holding their curves all the way around...like a Cub's .
Just a thought...
