I think I read somewher that the vibrations cause by these engines caused problems. What kind of problems and why more then any other engine of that displacement?

I don't know about the Tee Dee specifically, but vibrations can cause the fuel to get bubbles in it resulting in erratic performance.

If you fly rc it can make servos break more quickly.

How much do 1/2a motors mess with RC equipment? Like a parkflier Rx and some 9g servos.... Any padding necessary?

Well it depends I have run planes with a tee dee .020 engine and used 5 gram servos and they were all fine but I have heard of people using 9 gram servos with the high performance .049s such as tee dees and they experienced servo failure. I even heard one case of a 5 gram failing with only a .010 on the model I have never had one defect in flight before.

OK. The impression I got was there was more vibration compared to other motors of similar displacement. Due to... more power per cu. in.? Higher RPM?

I think they have more RAW power available because they are un muffled most moder engines of this size are and that usually restricts the power.
