what props are avaiable now for the td 049 in europe?
My inventory showed that i have way more engines then props so am looking at suggestions for props.
If possible from a eu suplyer to avoid the import tax/ handeling fee.
For example i have a small carbon prop on my killer bee clone that works well but cant recall where i got it (likely hobbyking or banggood)
Any props for racing drones that work well?
Am looking for both larger diameter/ lower pitch and speed props.
thanks

I suggest you try APC props, they are available to you next door to Ireland in the UK..very wide selection, excellent aerodynamics and balance, low price..the only issue is the hub bore diameter that is larger than the prop screw diameter of 049 COX engines. But a piece of silicon fuel tube of proper diameter pulled on the prop screw will make it work.
Avoid using electric plane props, and drone props, I had one exploding on my 020 TeeDee when spinning near 24k and was lucky being outside the plane of rotation.

Otherwise my favorite prop on 049 TeeDee-s is the black 5x4 COX prop sold by Bernie...may flex a bit and lose pitch at high speed, but fits the TeeDee performance very well, and is indestructable.

You can try Super Modellbau - Luftschrauben in Germany:
https://www.schulze-luftschrauben.de/
They are the same as the old Graupner props.
When you get to their website, click on the "three" bars in the upper left corner.
That will open up the selection for propellers.
When I need to order some props, I go there as the euro to US dollar is close to the same now.

love the old graupner props
Good to see they are still being made: when graupner quit, assumed that was the end of them.
Apc are probaly the better performing prop but the sharp blade design makes hand starting a bit unconfortable. Also they appear a bit more brittle then the master airscrew and graupner.
Even the uk is now outside the EU (thanks brexit...) so i avoid those shops if possible.
For general sports flying is the "2042.5x2" 5by 2 better or the "2042.6x3" 6 by 3 ?
They also make the "presision spinners" sold by graupner.
Would the 3.2mm axle version clamp on a treated stud as used for the cox spinners? what used to be called cam speed props like the 5 by 5 or the 4.7 by 4 would be a fun attemt at going a bit faster.

Re: what props are avaiable now for the td 049 in europe?
The Graupner 6x3 prop is a little too much load for the TD to rev up properly, it works well on Babe Bee engines though.
For the .049 TD engine the APC 5.7x3 is a good starting point, then play around from there with more or less pitch, there is plenty to choose from by APC.
The Graupner 5x2 work on the Pee Wee engine, but is too little load for the .049 engines.

saw his website
Since brexit made buying from the uk both more expensive and much slower i prefer to buy from a eu store.Coxfledgling wrote:Do you know of Dens model supplies based near Southampton in UK ?
Unless the pound exange rate makes it cheap enough to compensate.. who knows.
