Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
Can I place a tentative claim on both the Charlie's heads? I need to check my spares box to see if I have this size. I know I have two each .049, .09.
I should know first thing tomorrow am.

Wow! I didn't realize the parts are in Europe. I'm backing away carefully. I'm sorry...especially since I haven't found my stock of Charlie's heads.

D,
We are on the same page. I'll wait for GB's PM. I still want the Charlie's heads and possibly the Tee Dee glowplug. I can relay from this side.

Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
Sorry but all US Army Installations near me are closed for years.
Service members were send home (Fort Hood) or to Poland.
I dont live near Ramstein AAFB.
Coleman US Army Airfield (Heli base) is closer but
unaccessable to enter with the wrong ID/Passport.
I used to have backstage pass 20 years ago
working for a Telephone Company (T-COM) for such concert.
Plan "B" if one of your relatives is @ Coleman or maybe Ramstein ?
he sure can contact me via pm/e-mail .
Me @ Ramstein AAFB Front-Gate with wrong pass.

Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
How much is the postage actually? I would think those heads would fit in a bubble-wrap envelope. I sent an old Cox firewall to Bernie some time ago and I think the postage was something like 4€. Just sent it as a letter, no customs forms or anything.
If you want to go ”by the book”, you can fill the customs form and list the parts as antique toy parts, die-cast toys or such. There is an actual customs class for this kind of stuff. In Finland, there is no customs tariff for this class, and I can’t imagine USA would have a very high tariff either. VAT is only applicable to shipments over 30€ in value (in Finland again, YMMV).
It’s not like I have a huge amount of experience in international shipping, but I am pretty sure those would be just fine in a bubble envelope. Take your chances with the US customs and so on, but it should not be any different than any other little parcel coming from wherever. Most of the time they just arrive in your mailbox, sometimes the recipient has to do a customs declaration, but nowadays that should be pretty straightforward too.
And if you fill any forms, do not write anything about nitro Remember, collectible, toy, model, die-cast... also try to avoid the word ”engine”.

Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
This monday I checked my local DHL post office for posting fee GER-USA.
The employee behind the desk wanted 55.- Euro
shipping one 26 grams , medium size air bubble evenlope.
So I took off before I become nuts either.

Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
Just checked the Finnish postal service webpage. Parcels (boxes) start at around 45€, max weight 10kg. A bit overkill for a couple of heads and venturis. BUT, letters have max thickness of 30mm, adequate for little stuff and the fee depends on weight:
https://www.posti.fi/en/private/letters-and-mail/send-a-letter-or-postcard/international-letters-and-cards
Again, that’s the Finnish ”Posti”, but I would assume the prices would be similar in your area? If you choose no tracking etc, it is very reasonable.

Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
Sorry but Finnish ”Posti" and Germanish "Posti" are different.
@ other DHL office they would tell me the same.
No other way , I must belive what he asked (55.-Euro) for.
I could send via UPS but doing so ,
I must register @ UPS webpage which I dont like either.

Re: Who want´s it ? SOLD !
Yes, I realize that, and sorry for being ”pushy”
It’s just that I have learned the hard way the difference between a ”thick letter” and a ”flat parcel”. Same item, huge difference in the postage fee. Would have thought that it would be similar with the Deutsche Post.
For example, I was happy I could fit a couple of large scale drawings in two A4 envelopes, taped them together and went to send them as a letter (to a Finnish address). The postage was something like 11€! For a letter it was heavy... As a parcel the exact same shipment would have been 5.90€. The package was equal to about 3 magazines in size and weight.
I have sent and received smaller stuff as letters directly to my mailbox for 2,40€ (Domestically), even an 049 engine fits the 30mm limit. As a parcel that would have been 5.90€ and I would have had to pick it up at the automat at the grocery store.
Anyway, I hope y’all get this sorted some way

Who want's it?
To all my CEF friends:
I can certainly help out with delivery transactions, unfortunately by the time you send something to me in Canada & then I forward it to the USA, you might as well have just sent it direct. Canadian postal rates increased a lot recently also, often making postal delivery not worthwhile.
To my friend Peter, do keep me posted as to the next Lassogeier Luftzirkus event. It makes no financial sense, but I feel I must enter mouse race again, but this time with a special "German Rules" mouse racer. If you watch the movie "Ford vs. Ferrari", you might better understand why I must return! My wish is to bring along a full team of (American/German/Canadian) fellow mouse racers with me! I pray this COVID mess can be beat so that we can all resume with our flying.
Cheers,
St. Pauli (my nick name in Germany)
