RC groups for sale
Put a want ad right here on CEF
There are thousands of Cox .020s out there
Sadly .020 is about the only Cox engine I do not have

Re: Old Pee Wee
Use it. . Opening a fresh engine pack is a good feeling. Perhaps you can sell it for about 100.00 Dollars, but the feeling of using a new vintage engine is invaluable, I think

If it wasn't going on a free flight model, I wouldn't hesitate

Re: Old Pee Wee
I'd bet there's a few folks on there who would gladly trade you some really nice condition used or later new engines for that early mint in bubble pack engine. In that condition, maybe worth between $80-100.
These are never too old to run. At most, it might need a new fuel pickup tube.
If you do open it, I'd try to open it carefully to save the packaging. Maybe slit the bubble along one side of the edge.

i really don't want to sell it, and as I said I WOULD go ahead and use it if it wasn't a free flight model I needed it for. I have lost some of the poorest flying free flights you ever saw.
If I could find a decent , complete tank backplate assembly I have a damaged Pee Wee I could use.

Re: Old Pee Wee
What you need is a rough looking but good running Pee Wee so you can drill a hole in the gas tank and plumb it to an eyedropper. Then you might not lose the Sniffer to a miscalculated engine run.

Re: Old Pee Wee
I always wonder: when I am no longer in this world, who picks up this or that engine and will start it ?, will I take care of it as I take care of it? ... well, I don't have a serious answer .... it comes to mind To think that the engine that is there in his blister, maybe he is anxious to start, maybe if he could talk he would say: I want to start !!!
Well a little imagination is not bad, I think everything has a time, there comes a time where it is better, start and enjoy that engine that we have preserved for a long time, at last and to the point, it will be part of something more than We have passionately lived, happy to hear him scream ...

Bill the Bad......yes sir I have bought from you.
I know there are more lurkers than posting members.
I like to post some for the audience who might get an "Aha" moment
Did not intend to imply you were some neophyte to the buy sell trade game

Bob,
I can't thank you enough. The backplate was perfect, and the extra orings and gaskets were a lifesaver!!
My engine runs great!!

Re: Old Pee Wee
OH BOY! I WOULD LOVE TO OPEN AND FLY THAT ENGINE, IF I WERE YOU!
Having an actual, untouched engine would give you such a great feeling, that you will feel like nothing could go wrong with a new plane and engine! Oh, to be in your shoes...
I built a Super Sniffer from plans, last year or so, ago, and I was able to install a Cox Babe Bee .049, that belonged to a Wichita modeler, who was "famous" for a Spruce Goose model which had 8 Cox .010 TeeDee engines flying it. I was gifted this engine upon his passing, as other club members were not particularly eager to use little engines. This engine is a beauty! He took very good care of his things, and my new Babe Bee is a prime example.
Open, run, install, and fly your engine. There is no other feeling like it!
