Another Aurora SE5 box arrives crushed
Arizona plane. No rust on the LG springs. Seller said it hung in his hobby room for 40 years.
Had my fill of these things. SE5 three built, two NIB but parts used. Aurora Fokker D7 one built but needs parts. Two NIB kits providing parts for a 3D printer. One will be powered with a spare Aurora engine.

Whew. When I read teh title, my heart sank for you. I envisioned pieces... To me, it looks like the plane arrived safely, although the box is another story. Unless there is something broken I did not see. I like the springs on the landing gear. Seems like it was a good idea. Now did they work is another story.

Ditto.... it looks as though the "box-contents" arrived unscathed...
I LOVE those bipes Robert! Let's design/build a little custom 1/2A size C/L bipe for this Summer... What do ya' say? You got balsa?

Unbelievable. USPS seems to have lost its pride with the delivery of mail and packages.
Was that a factory painted pilot or owner painted pilot? Either way, what a great job!
Reminds me a little of Rhett Butler, a flying ace.

You need to rework the pilot a bit and have him sipping a cup of tea.

"visable damage"-- One thing hasn't changed much at the USPS since starting about 40 years ago. Functional standard North American English literacy.

He does look a bit startled, maybe it was the long ride with the USPS... He could use a cuppa for sure.

I have balsa roddie just no initiative. Spring has sprung and the outdoors calls.
I used up all my modeling enthusiasm stuck in the basement during the winter months. These are just some of the projects I bought/completed this past winter, most of which I posted about here ad nauseam. I didn't lay out all 16 Mercedes or all the engines I have done.
Going to try not to but I will probably miss car/fly days. A cute little Sunbeam Alpine calls.

Very productive. You deserve a break. Go see if you can get some hillbilly girl to go for a ride in the Alpine.

Haven't got it yet, the Alpine or the girl. Make that a RockaWVhillbillygirl..............
The SE5 went back together fine, except the machine gun took a beating. Builder had a little different take and I like his rendition.
I believe that it was Mark Boesen that said that employees would take the pilot figure home to paint for extra money. All three that I have were nicely done.
Oh yes, The springed landing gear works fine. There is about a quarter inch of travel within the stops.
