Re: A new record for RR1?
The Bee I can understand due to the packaging. We sold one for $195 to a collector.

Well, a Venom went for $995, an 010 in early packaging went for $710 and a used Bill Atwood Olympic for almost $800.

Re: A new record for RR1?
Don’t worry unless I get a new job or win lotto I can’t see me dropping $1000 on an engine, even $250 seems a bit crazy to me but again I’ve only just started and don’t have the childhood memory’s that a lot of you guys do. There’s another RR1 at the moment and bidding is over US$700. Just crazy!!

Re: A new record for RR1?
I tried on the yellow Strato Bug. The same guy that outbid me on the Olympic drum valve a few weeks back outbid me today. Must have deeper pockets. The feedback ratings match.

I bid on this also. I ran it from 400 to over 800 in four bids in 100 increments with about 6 minutes to go.
wound up the high bidder for a few minutes till the snipers came in the last few seconds and steamrolled me.
O well the PayPal act. is still intact.
I figured the guy at 811.88 was CI, and you are one of two snipers

CI would be our good buddy Bernie, you know your going against him on a auction like this.
And Jason but the gloves are off on a yellow Strato.LoL

Re: A new record for RR1?
$492 for a .051 Medallion
$611 for regular .049 Tee Dee (first edition packaging)
$1,136 for a Strato Bug
$1,206 for an RR1 (early edition)
But then only $112 for a Thermal Hopper
Jason and all others on this forum: We regularly bid on behalf of some of our collector customers with customer-defined limits (+ a commission for us) but, by doing so, we invariably bid against our own customers as well.
We suggest that, if you are going to bid on rare NIB engines, you drop us a note to advise us and we will refrain from bidding on those engines. Except for the .051 Medallion, it would not have made any difference this time but sometimes it does and there is little point in us bidding up engines when our own customers are involved.

Re: A new record for RR1?
I don't mind you bid on these, like I said for a yellow Strato the gloves are off.

It’s all good. Everyone needs a chance at getting a yellow Strato Bug.
