Nitromethane and fuel for Cox

Nitromethane and fuel for Cox
Friends, as we all know, a fundamental component for the proper use of our engines is the nitromethane and / or the fuel already prepared.
We are here with some restrictions to get Nitromethane.
Someone can tell me a store in the US that sells then:
Nitromethane
and also:
Fuel prepared for Cox.
Thank you very much for your help.

Sig would probably be a great source. They mix 25 and 35% and are large enough and have been around long enough to be familiar with International shipping rules concerning fuel and components.
They also sell castor oil, so you can order some with your fuel order and have some to bump it up a little from their standard 10/10% castor/synthetic.

Re: Nitromethane and fuel for Cox
Hi Mauricio,
I found an online fuel calculator. I use it to determine how much castor oil to add to RC car/truck/buggy fuel with low synthetic oil content.
I get my castor oil in small bottles from a local drug store. It is cheap enough, and seems to work just fine.
The beauty of the calculator is that it lets you mix two known fuel blends and determine the required castor oil amount to get the desired blend. See details here:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3060588-Fuel-talk/page2#post39478309
My latest quart size fuel is 35% nitro with 9% synthetic oil. I still need to run the fuel numbers in the calculator, but I suspect it will take about 30 CC's of Castor for about 250-270 CC's of fuel to make a roughly 28% Nitro, 15 % castor, 5% synthetic oil.
You know you have enough castor in the mix if the plane gets that normal slime coating on it!
Feliz Navidad!

That's what I was thinking...which is why I posted the "mixing option."
I figure there has to some fuel available there...Spain, or was it Argentina?

Re: Nitromethane and fuel for Cox
Hi Mauricio,
This fuel is very good for Cox, %10 nitro:
http://www.morganfuel.com/omega_control
Send them an e-mail for distributor address.
I use Sidewinder %16 nitro. You also can find %30 nitro Sidewinder fuel. I add 100 cc (3.4 fl. oz.) castor oil to one quart Sidewinder fuel to bring oil percentage to %20.

Re: Nitromethane and fuel for Cox
Thank you all for your time in giving me information.
It is true the issue of transport but I may have the means to bring it here, I have to study the case.
It is not Spain friend, it is Argentina, for that matter it is the same, there are NO mailings for being dangerous material.
I have Byron available here, I had already tried it works very well, I add castor oil to take it to 20%, with 10% nitro works very well.
What opinions do you have? ... do you know it?

Re: Nitromethane and fuel for Cox
Are you asking what hobby shops in the US carry Cox compatible fuel? There are several places to order fuel from.
If you have a problem receiving hazardous materials in Argentina how is any fuel going to be shipped from the US.
The Byron fuel you show is pretty low Nitro. I wouldn’t go below 15% and I personally use 25-35%

Re: Nitromethane and fuel for Cox
Well there are some services that could perhaps bring it or perhaps not, anyway I am finding out and gathering the information, then I can finally see if it is possible to do something.
Regarding the Byron 10%, this is a video of mine where I use this fuel, it certainly works well, possibly with more nitro, there would be more rpm, but for that matter it works, so I asked what opinions you had ....

What is the oil content without adding Castor oil?MauricioB wrote:Thank you all for your time in giving me information. Byron uses oil mix of 80% Synthetic + 20% Castor oil. Here I have included the mix for their Wildcat product, Byron Gen2 should be the same. Although I show mixes for 15% nitro, should be same for 10%.
Adding 6.4 oz. Castor gives 20% oil mix, but only 7.8% Castor total. General consensus is 10% Castor.
Adding 10 oz. Castor bumps oil content to 22.1% and Castor to 10%. This in my opinion would give better protection in case of a lean engine run.
Do not exceed 25% total oil content. These engines have small fuel passageways, can not handle thicker viscosities.
