Roddie has posted pics of what appears to be completed planes.
akjgardner and Bob said they had something to enter as well.
I'm afraid that I have missed my chance.
After Mark and I finished (literally) running the Cox Mercedes we tried to get this planes engine running for a flight or two. Wouldn't run, what is it with me and these horse-shoe backplates...……..New reed, gaskets, the works when I rebuilt it...
Not a serious speed entry anyway, but I did built it from scratch. Might mount a tanked known runner BB and fly it for fun by the 15th. Had to CA a couple of nails under the horizontal stab for balance. Not sure how that will work out with a tanked engine.

My son Shawn put up the reedy flight with my mouser, couldn't we use it? I don't know where the video is, I thought it was in this post. I certainly could find it and repost it. I was flying on 35' lines that day but the speed was still good.
I just found it https://www.facebook.com/PhillyFliersCL/videos/vb.513140418756097/453463618741670/?type=2&theater

I get Ken/Shawns flight at 24.85 seconds for 10 laps on 35 ft. lines which works out to 60.32 mph using the British chart.

I haven’t had time yet, please still feel free to post more entries. Currently in Spokane Washington possibility of heading to McChord/Seattle right after. I will close the contest as soon as I feel fit or if Fred tells me to shut it down. Keep flying and keep having fun!

I'm VERY glad that Ron gave us a "reprieve" here............
I'm not sure where the 32 foot line-length came from. I plan on flying my "Reedies" on 35 foot lines. I don't have any rotary-valve induction engine entries.
My two competitive models will be the "Rare Bear" and the "Flying Blind".
I hope to get flights logged on 8/3/19... at the secluded schoolyard field that I mentioned previously.

While Ron mentioned that work was going to have him occupied prior to his last post, the procrastinating gets pretty old. There's a huge lack of participation which is a big disappointment.

I will close the contest Monday afternoon. I understand it’s a little frustrating but I wanted to get max participation as Fred has put up a good amount of money to spark participation.
Thanks to all who have posted an entry!

Only need 1 other person to fly his plane this weekend for the competition to be valid!!!!!!!
The minimum requirement was 5 different people flying.
Roddie you have to fly just one of them.
If you fly the red one make sure you put the prop on correctly
Jim are you going to solve your fuel flow problem?
Come on lads kick it in gear do or die time!

OMG.. Thanks Brad and Rod.
I'd planned on reversing the V-gear to angle forward.. and hopefully would have caught that back-asswards prop in the process.
Here's the fixes..
(That prop is a 5-4 LH.. same as on the Rare Bear)

Re: 2018 to 2019 CEF Run What YA Brung UNLIMITED speed contes (CLOSED)
Not my best day at flying...
The above vid wasn't the first. You don't want to see the first one..
I did actually maiden one of my Mustangs.. and it flew nice and smooth.. and landed without incident.. rolling to a stop. It was the first flight of the day and my first flight in 26 years! I didn't have the camera running for that flight unfortunately..
As you can see, I brought a squadron with me to the field. The little "Flying Blind" had to sit-out because of issues that I had with my stooge. The newly-built "fork" release was binding. The Mustang's first launch saw the pin release.. but the fork didn't drop as it's supposed to. I built the fork-retrofit so that the original pin-release would still work with models having a "linkage" for use with it. The little racer doesn't have a pin-linkage.. and neither does the P38.. which I wanted to fly today.
I've got some re-engineering to do before I go back to the field again.. that's for sure.

Yea.. earlier this afternoon here in N. Smithfield, RI it started to cloud-up and get breezy. I heard a bit of thunder in the distance and thought to myself; "Oh.. here we go".. "I've taken too damn long to get this together.. and now the weather's gonna' screw me.."
Well.. it was short-lived and after an hour it was back to being sunny, calm and HOT! It was too hot and humid for flying-activity really.. but I had to give it a shot. I had all sorts of problems today. It started when I hooked-up the lines to one of two self-designed "Mustangs" that I'd built 20 years ago.. but never flown. I was using a new-to-me style line-connector.. (the type that Sullivan sells) and got it jammed in the opening of my solid-type lead-out. It was HOT and sweat was running into my eyes. That part was especially awesome..
