Intense action from the C/L World Championships
Good stuff here......
EDIT: Oops, that was 2008. Doh! Same city in France, and some of our pilots are still the same as this year, so I'll leave it up.

Whatever year, that was a good watch.
CL speed, freaks me out.
Thanks for that, Rusty.

It sure does, Bob. And so does team racing. Maybe I'll get myself one of those slick uniforms my F2B(Stunt) buddies wear.
But in any case, this was a well presented overview of what serious competitive Control Line is.

Re: Intense action from the C/L World Championships
The neat thing about CL is the pilot is usually pretty safe. The spectators however, are playing with fire. With speed they run in cages so things are pretty safe all around. You’ll notice upon release the engines are all blubbery rich and don’t lean out and scream until airborne. I am not sure if the engines are tuned that way or if the pilot flicks his wrist to lean them out. It seems like there is a wrist flip at the end of the 9 laps to kill the engine. I have only seen Goodyear racing and Foxberg which is something entirely different than F2A.

Re: Intense action from the C/L World Championships
Pretty fantastic. Riveting visuals.
I couldn't figure out how they refueled so quickly until near the end of the video the pit guy had a fuel tank attached to his arm. Still the fuel line had to be attached and fuel let into the tank. Restarting was the easy part. Over in a blink of an eye. Impressive.
Judging the speed guys was easy. Line length, number of rotations. But judging stunt, subjective.......not so easy.
First time I had seen this one Rusty. Thanks for sharing.
