Samuel Does Figure 8's

Samuel Does Figure 8's
Big week for us at Brodaks Fly In. Sam had some milestones. He flew an entire tank of gas inverted on an old slow combat plane. He also did figure 8's and outside loops by himself. By the end of the week I was leaving the circle and he was doing them completely alone. He still had some pancakes but he understands the concept now and knows what he is doing wrong. We will start on vertical 8's and overhead 8' next. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15xXLIXSxio

Mike, is that the K&B .28? I have to say it was pretty cool watching he seems very confident. Ken

No, the .28 is on a SkyRay and working very well. The slow combat plane has an old MK V on it running on suction. Prop is a 9x4 running a little fat to keep the speed down. Mack Henry gave me a dozen old slow combat planes. We are using them as stunt trainers. I figure Sam can go through these before we try 8's and inverted with his good planes and motors. I know he's going to stuff a bunch of planes and I'd rather it be those than his better ones. Something really clicked this week in his flying and he's got it but mistakes will still be made. He's made amazing progress this year and I'm tickled. Remember Samuel is only 8 years old. I was 13 or 14 before I could fly like he is now.Ken Cook wrote: Mike, is that the K&B .28?
