And what did you discover? Hmmmmmm?
Most factories have minimum orders and for good reson.
(I'll bet "the factory" is unionized.)

What engine do you think would be more popular... A throttled .010 or a throttled .020 ??

Strictly a matter of personal choice depending on the aircraft upon which the engine is used. I tend to regard my TD .010 as more of a curiosity piece because tiny aircraft are VERY sensitive to wind conitions.
BTW, I have both a TD .010 and a Pee Wee .020.

Oh balderdash! You may think that but many of us know otherwise.
Would you say the same thing about the Model A Ford? It went out of production in 1931.

Well, like you said, most enthusiasts are in the ages of 50-70. How many will there be to carry on the next generation? How long will the supply of parts last?
Unless somebody does something about production, it will become impossible to still run/fly them.

Re: Production of cox engines today
Used, reproduction and some NOS parts seem in good supply for Model A Fords today.
Could this be analogous to Coxes in any way?

yes, but cars are a lot more main stream than cox engines.

True but most cars aren't in the Model A's category as an antiquated relic.

Re: Production of cox engines today
We will continue to manufacture parts and engines as long as it is profitable. However, making engines for $18 and selling them for $20 is not.
Every few months we have been bumping engine pricing up a buck or two. If the market supports it and we reach $40+ for a basic engine without tank, we will make more engines, of course.

Ok that seems fair and comforting.
Re: Production of cox engines today
I'm going to close out on this thread because it's pretty much all been said.
In short, when the economic demand* for Coxes and Cox parts is sufficent they will be produced. (* demand = willingness to put $$$ on the table)

Not sure maybe some parts could be made again Luke there is demand for a good .09 engine.
