As some know it had requested information to decide which engine installed on this signature model Kyosho and in order to sort the post, I continue in this way to share with you ....

I began by starting the engine for the first time.
These are the initial parameters:
20% Fuel 80% methanol castor
Propeller: 8x4 Master

You will see that the carburetor is racing full and revolutions are from 5100, this is because the needle is open so that the fuel-rich engine work.
I did the engine to consume 600 cc 200 cc intervals for up.
Has a perfect start and the last tank started to sharpen the needle, marking a 12700 rpm, always with the same fuel without Nitromethano.

Re: P51 Mustang by Kyosho (restoration)and flight video
Finally the model P51 MUSTANG debuts.
The day was presented with winds of 20/25 km / h, with gusts as high as 38 km / h, you can hear the wind whistling noise in my video camera.
The P51 model, was superb, totally predictable and very stable. Flies very strong and despite the wind and its small size, a noble design is appreciated.
I am very happy with the result! ... I hope to you like it as much as me !, Greetings!

Glad to see that you are progressing physically Mauricio.
How much modification to the airplane was required to get the OS to fit? I have been there. Dowels in the holes and redrilled but I would think you did a different mod.? Different mount perhaps?

Thank you dear friend, the process is slow, I have been two months and 20 days after the operation, improvements are beginning to be felt from now on, but there is still some pain from surgery, not always, but it appears somewhere. I suppose it will take me more than three months for the definitive recovery.

Re: P51 Mustang by Kyosho (restoration)and flight video
The original Kyosho kit provides a mount and adjustable metal plates, for that reason, it is possible to "play" with different motors.
The Enya .09 engine requires the use of metal plates mounted on the nylon bed.
Engines e.g. O.S. .15 r/c, O.S. .15 FP, the MVVS .12 r/c engine, can be placed directly on the nylon bed, since the fit is perfect. in this case the additional metal plates are NOT used.

Re: P51 Mustang by Kyosho (restoration)and flight video
Here I leave another video with better visual quality.
This Mustang has inspired me in the assembly in another Kyosho model, also from the same period, I invite you to see what it is about...

Re: P51 Mustang by Kyosho (restoration)and flight video
Hi Maurisimo,
Get back in the saddle soon. I like riding my bikes, and switched to an upright e-bike because of my hands cramp up bad on my old rides. My leg muscles do not like the new 'geometry', but are getting better...
Never seen or heard of a Kyosho around here. (just west of Toronto, Canada)
What era is the kit from?
Back ~95, 1/12 ScaleCombat with .15s was cool. (OSFP.15s, the go to engine, those MMVSs go like snot !)
Morphed into .25 power, a bit bigger plane because the needed repairs on the (2105 rules) planes, whatever....
Ended up, OSFX.25 and coro was the way to go.
Anyways,
We had a 'BestScale' award, to any plane that could fly a Round. (out of six)
My buddy Peter had built a HOB 1/12 balsa P-51 with an OSFP.15 and it was beautiful. (full cockpit and rivet dots !)
Brought it as a last backup. (I put confetti inside, because it was a joke to fly it against coro)
Well,
My foam/wood Fulmar was out 3rd round, latest coro Spitfire out 5th round. So it was time...
The OSFP.15 fired up, and was good to go.
The coro gang were yelling, 'Woody, let's get it !', the Spectators all agreed...
So, I survived the first 4 minutes of the 6th round, pulled an uppercut on an overtaking streamer,
Blam. T-bone from a plane coming the other way !
It is weird flying a plane that disappears ! ! !
And seeing debris and confetti come down, and hear the cheers from spectators...
Combat is a weird thing...
Cool thing,
My friend Peter,
Has the "Best Scale" trophy from that day.
Hope you like this story.
Thanks for sharing yours',
You are very good at the internet,
Thanks,
Respect,
Dave

Hi guys, thanks for the comments...
TD ABUSER: Yeah mate, the P51 with the .15 FP engine has become something very fast and now I like it a lot more than before!!
Dave:
Yes, I'm already testing the bike again! and my butt doesn't seem to bother him!! haha, that's very good news! I'll share the experience soon.
I loved your story, it must have been great to witness that! thanks for sharing it here and thanks again for your compliment.

Re: P51 Mustang by Kyosho (restoration)and flight video
Nice on-board video, Mauricio..really felt myself in the cockpit when watching it..very enjoyable flight video..good that you have a muffler on the OS that keeps your camera lens clean..on my on-board videos with un-muffled COX engines I have to place the camera off the exhaust stream otherwise the castor drops would completely smear the recording...

Hi MauricimoB,
Thanks for another great video,
I find it weird that you are in the same time zone, and 6 months of weather away...
The OSFP.15s here got bored out carbs. Good at %25. Blew up at %40nitro...
8-3s I think.
Where can I get one of those props in your video?
Never seen a prop react to g-loads before...
Thanks,
Dave
P.S. I keep riding, at my own pace...
